In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Zayne M. Thomajan, our General Manager, who has been with the Chicago Fire for 2 months. Originally from New York, NY?and raised in Austin, TX, Zayne views this month as a time to?honor and acknowledge?the women?who have come before her to help pave the way for women to have a seat at the table in sports and beyond. Zayne draws the greatest influence from her mom, who taught her how to show up in the world, treat others with?kindness and?respect, and relentlessly pursue her dreams?/ work hard to achieve them. Her advice to her younger self? “Trust the process,”?as the challenges faced along the way?are lessons to prepare?you for the future. Zayne is committed to paying it forward by?always saying “yes” when people reach out to learn more about being in sports and actively trying to find & create opportunities for those looking for opportunities in sports.?She believes in providing equitable opportunities?and?believes in organizations who value the diverse perspectives that women can provide as staff members, teammates, and in leadership roles. For Women's History Month, we are excited to highlight Emily Simanskis, Senior Manager of Social Media and Digital Content with Chicago Fire FC, who has been with the club for 8 months. Emily sees Women's History Month as a celebration of both the achievements of women and the future accomplishments still to come. She is particularly inspired by?her high school horseback riding coach, Sam, who stoked her competitiveness and inspired her determination in athletics and life. Her advice to her younger self??"Don’t sell yourself short because of your gender identity. Hold yourself to the same standards as your peers." Emily is committed to uplifting others, especially through her involvement with WISE and her willingness to mentor younger women pursuing careers in sports. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Sara Reilly, the Manager of Soccer in the Community, who has been with Chicago Fire FC for 5 years. Originally from Chicago, Sara is dedicated to reflecting on the women who have paved the way for others and celebrating their sacrifices that have helped shape the present. Sara’s biggest influence has been her mom, an immigrant from communist Poland who overcame tremendous hardships to build a life for her family. Her mom’s strength and perseverance continue to inspire Sara. Sara actively uplifts women by being a proactive resource within the club, especially for those in her department. She encourages women to speak up, be proactive, and never wait for an opportunity to make their voices heard. Looking ahead, Sara believes we can continue empowering the next generation of women in sports by creating women-focused initiatives year-round and celebrating women’s accomplishments in the moment, not waiting for the "right time." March 22 was the official Signing Day and the first practice of the season for the Unified team! 2025 marks the 13th year of partnership between Chicago Fire and Special Olympics Illinois. Unified Soccer is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. Inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. Our Unified team will be hosting Nashville SC and LAFC this season in Chicago as well as traveling to Orlando and Forward Madison to compete.

Welcome to the Club, Ted! Chicago Fire FC has hired Ted Glick to be the Club's Chief Ticketing Officer, SVP of Stadium Programming and Events. His time with the Fire will begin April 1 and he will report directly to the President of Business Operations, David Baldwin. “Having worked with Ted before, I know first-hand how accomplished he is and the impact he will have on our Club. Ted is a proven leader who will help build upon our ticketing growth from the last two years, both in our current stadium and as we continue the search for a potential future venue. Originally from Germantown, Wisconsin, Petra is passionate about celebrating the strong women who have paved the way, not only in sports but in all aspects of life. For Petra, the most influential woman in her life is her mother, a nurse who worked in NICU, women’s sexual health, and psychiatric intake. Her mother’s compassion and selflessness continue to inspire Petra every day. Petra is committed to uplifting women, both personally and professionally, by encouraging those around her to believe in their own potential. She actively works to pay it forward, helping guide future women in sports and ensuring they have the support to succeed. Looking ahead, Petra believes that early exposure to sports and eliminating limits for girls in male-dominated spaces is key to empowering the next generation of women in sports. She credits her mom, who has had a significant impact on her career, and her first sports internship supervisor, who instilled in her the confidence to pursue her goals. Megan actively uplifts other women by making introductions, being an ally, and staying connected with those who share similar experiences. She believes in creating opportunities for women to see themselves in leadership roles and pursue positions where they’ve historically been underrepresented.
