Monthly event that gathers Chicago's climate-minded folks to discuss, inspire, and support
关于我们
When it comes to the climate, thinking, acting, and connecting locally matters. This monthly event brings together climate-minded folks to discuss, inspire, and support. Whether you work (or are looking to work) in climate and sustainability professionally, or are looking to get involved with local initiatives and solutions - we’d love to meet you! About your hosts: We are climate-minded Chicagoans who are members of different global online climate communities like Work On Climate, Terra.do, MCJ, and ClimateAction.tech. We saw a need to build a local bridge between these communities and bring other Chicago groups into the discussion. Last week, Chicago Climate Connect had the pleasure of co-hosting an event with the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago! We welcomed over 75 attendees who got a chance to meet other climate-minded folks, as well as watch startup pitches on climate tech innovation from companies that are part of the Resurgence cleantech accelerator. Following the pitches, the audience wanted to learn more so they asked the founders several clarifying and challenging questions. The founders also stuck around after to hang out and continue the conversation. Thank you Ryan Brownlow and Ozge Guney-Altay, Ph.D. for helping set this up and welcoming us to University of Chicago's amazing campus, and thanks to our very own Michael Boeke for moderating!

Last week, Chicago Climate Connect?had the pleasure of co-hosting an event with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute?(CELI). Around 100 attendees were treated to a spirited panel on Evolving the Grid for a Clean Energy Future (Midwest Edition) with?Steven Brisley?of?Camus Energy,?Madeleine Klein?from ENGIE North America Inc.?(ENGIE Distributed Solar + Storage),?and?Connor Waldoch?of Grid Status. The panel discussed the challenges and opportunities ahead as we work to upgrade the grid as renewable energy adoption rises. Some terrific audience engagement focused on equity considerations with renewable energy adoption and which country is a model for grid modernization (hint: this country/continent also has three times more sheep than people). Thank you again to the wonderful people at TeamWorking by TechNexus?in the loop for hosting us in their beautiful space and for our very own,?Michael Boeke, for moderating this exciting discussion.
