Founded in 1982, the Chicago Chapter's mission is to advance the profession of Facilities Management and to support the professional growth and development of facilities managers in the Chicagoland area. The chapter accomplishes this mission for over 300 members by providing programs that advance our members' professional education, creating networking and information sharing opportunities, fostering the attainment of CFM designation, acting as an information resource, promoting synergy between professional and associate members, recognizing members' achievements in the field and championing initiatives that make our members better corporate citizens (e.g., sustainability and community service initiatives.) Member Spotlight: Meet Cynthia Milota, FMP member of IFMA Chicago’s Hospitality Committee. A writer, researcher and advocate of sustainability, her work focuses on the Circular Economy, https://lnkd.in/dEShtsQ.?At the IFMA Fall Member Appreciation, working with our hosts, Rightsize Facility, the team piloted a zero waste event.?Purchasing local with minimal packaging, zero plastics and compostable disposable products, the event generated less than 1 lb. of landfill waste, along with 25 lbs. of recycling and over 6 lbs. of compost. Look for more IFMA/Chicago zero waste events in 2025.
