We are excited to announce Dr. Patrick Williams has joined the team at CHI Saint Joseph Health – Cancer Care Center in Bardstown. Dr. Williams' journey toward a medical career began at age 14, driven by his passion for biological sciences and his deep commitment to serving others. For him, becoming a physician was a natural path. “Most of my life, I have been in a caregiver position,” said Dr. Williams. “I've had a lot of influencers as well. My mother was a nurse, and my brother went to medical school. When I was doing my internal medicine training, I frequently came in contact with cancer patients and was drawn to that care and the urgency and impact of the relationship.” Welcome to the team, Dr. Williams! We are proud to announce the recipients of CHI Saint Joseph Health’s 2024 Art of Humankindness Grants: Arlington Elementary (Kristen Blaker), Cardinal Valley Elementary (Michelle Armstrong), Coventry Oak Elementary (Hope Bennett), Deep Springs Elementary (Emily Blankenship), Mary Todd Elementary (Brittany McFarland), Millcreek Elementary (Caryn Raskin), and Meadowthorpe Elementary (Annette Justice). The grants are providing up to $2,000 to the seven elementary schools in Fayette County Public Schools (KY) to support projects encouraging kindness and creativity through various art forms, and they are part of ongoing efforts by CHI Saint Joseph Health’s Creating Safer Neighborhoods Initiative, funded through CommonSpirit Health's Mission and Ministry Fund, to foster a culture of kindness and support in local communities. We recently celebrated our nursing students who completed their summer externship with CHI Saint Joseph Health. These students worked alongside registered nurses at our facilities across Kentucky to apply the knowledge they have gained in their academic program to the clinical setting and to experience different areas of interest.
