CHI Memorial has awarded $60,000 in grants to three local nonprofits—La Paz, The Lighthouse Collective, and the Medical Foundation of Chattanooga—to improve access to health care, mental health services, and essential resources for underserved communities. La Paz ($20,000): Expanding health and mental health services for Hamilton County’s Hispanic community, providing care, education, and case management to over 1,900 individuals. The Lighthouse Collective ($20,000): Offering counseling, prevention, and education services to at-risk individuals in Avondale, Bushtown, and downtown Chattanooga to address the root causes of violence. Medical Foundation of Chattanooga ($20,000): Launching a food assistance pilot through Project Access to provide monthly, patient-curated food boxes to those facing food insecurity. “Improving health isn't solely about what happens within our hospital walls; it's about fostering well-being across the entire community.? By supporting these vital organizations, we're extending our reach and ensuring individuals and families have access to the critical services they need to thrive. This is an investment in a healthier, more vibrant community for all,” shared Janelle Reilly, market president, CHI Memorial. This initiative is part of the CommonSpirit Health Community Health Improvement Grants program.
