We are proud to announce the U.S. Dept. of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has placed 93.43 acres El Reno (Denny’s) property into trust for the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes on Tuesday, July 2, 2024!

Today, OIGA Chairman Matthew L. Morgan had the honor of participating in the opening panel session of the Oklahoma Sovereignty Symposium, hosted by Oklahoma City University School of Law. This distinguished panel was moderated by two esteemed leaders, Gary Batton, Chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and Chuck Hoskin, Jr., Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. Other panelists were Gentner Drummond, Office of the Oklahoma Attorney General; Tim Gatz, Director, Oklahoma Department of Transportation; Hershel Gorham, Lt. Governor, Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes; Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne, UK House of Lords; and Todd Russ, Office of the Oklahoma State Treasurer.

On Thursday, May 30, 2024 in downtown Denver, the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes received the Elevate Conservation: Outdoors for All Award for leadership on the renaming of Mt. Blue Sky in Colorado. Thank you to The Wilderness Society for the nomination and Elevate Conservation: Ourdoors for All organization for this amazing award!

#ICYMI On Monday, May 20, 2024, the Tribes hosted the AICCOk (American Indian Chamber of Commerce) Leadership Native Oklahoma Class of 2024. Lt. Governor Hershel Gorham, Lucky Star Casinos CFO Stephanie Black, and several tribal programs gave presentations highlighting the success of the tribal programs and businesses. We were pleased to have the LNO Class 2024 at Concho, OK!

Lt. Governor Hershel Gorham and governmental affairs officer LaRenda Morgan attended the last Oklahoma Legislature Native American Caucus meeting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Oklahoma State Capitol to advocate and update the caucus about Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes!
