What a month it's been so far at Chesterbrook Academy! We kicked off March with a celebration of Dr. Seuss's birthday. Our classrooms transformed their doors into colorful, imaginative displays inspired by classic Dr. Seuss books. The creativity on display was amazing, the students and teachers truly outdid themselves! Last week I had the special privilege of joining one of our kindergarten classes on a heartwarming visit to the local senior living center. The kids proudly shared their leprechaun traps, and the joy on both the seniors' and children's faces was incredible to witness! We wrapped up the week with a spectacular student art show. This event gave our talented students a chance to shine as they showcased their artistic skills. It was great seeing parents, children, and teachers coming together (getting a little messy) and enjoying themselves as much as they did! The energy, enthusiasm, and collaboration we've seen reminds us why our schools are such a special place to learn and grow. And a special shout out to the teachers and administrators fostering such a creative and caring environment, thank you for all that you do! Last week, our schools hosted Open House events, with a special spotlight on Thursday night’s Art Show.?Families, both current and new, enjoyed a wonderful evening filled with art, refreshments, and community as we showcased our students’ incredible work. ?? Art is just one way we encourage our students to express themselves. Teachers create a balance of open-ended materials for process art, drawing inspiration from famous artists' works and encouraging students to make their own unique interpretations. The focus is always on the process, not the product. We are so proud of our little artists and their masterpieces, and thankful for our community who came out to support them! #ArtEducation #EarlyChildhoodEducation #Art

??? We had an amazing time at the art show at Chesterbrook Academy Ellis Preserve! The creativity of our little artists was on full display, and it was a joy to see their work come to life. From colorful paintings to adorable clay sculptures, every piece was a masterpiece! ?????

It's National Reading Month and Chesterbrook Academy West Chester has kicked off the festivities in a fun way--with a visit from the Brandywine Valley SPCA! Students shared their favorite books with some puppies and kittens from the SPCA, and practiced their reading skills with these cute listeners. Meanwhile, teachers at the school also put on a memorable performance--complete with mouse costumes--to bring excitement to the school-wide reading of Mouse And the Motorcycle this week. We're off to a great start to the month devoted to one of our favorite activities...reading! #NationalReadingMonth #Reading #LiteracyMatters

Throughout the month of February, our schools have integrated lessons about the history and contributions of Black Americans in honor of Black History Month. One highlight: Pre-K students learned about Robert Flemming Jr., who created the "Euphonica" guitar for a richer, more resonant sound. Not only did they learn about an amazing inventor, but through hands-on activities they discovered how sound vibrations work, boosting creativity, fine motor skills, and auditory perception—all while having fun! #BlackHistoryMonth #Education

What a joy talking with these 2nd and 3rd grade students and future civic leaders at?Chesterbrook Academy in West Goshen. There were so many thoughtful questions from these young leaders about my role as a Senator, public service, and how they can make a difference in the world around them. Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for the warm welcome, this was a true highlight of my week.

Last week's professional development day at Chesterbrook Academy West Chester was an opportunity for our teachers and staff to come together and focus on sharpening their skills and acquiring new techniques for their classroom. Preschool students and families at our schools have shown the power of compassion and kindness as they came together to donate food to those in need. Multiple organizations benefitted from their donations; one highlight was Chesterbrook Academy West Chester preschool students collecting over 1,000 cans to benefit the Chester County Food Bank. Service learning inspires leadership and builds character in our students. At Chesterbrook Academy Raleigh, our Preschool and Intermediate students are leading a campaign to help support the Wake County Animal Shelter! Throughout the month of February they will be collecting donations for the shelter and we know they will make a big impact for the animals there! #Fundraiser #ServiceLearning #CommunityService

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Our students will explore the contributions of local and influential African Americans through books, hands-on learning experiences, and thoughtful classroom discussions.
