Most recently, we upgraded the Lower School playground with custom-designed wood fiber, boulders, site amenities, and plantings to foster outdoor play and exploration. ? In 2021, we completed the 67,000-square-foot Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Middle School, a state-of-the-art facility that enhances the educational experience. In 2018, we delivered the Fader Innovation Center, a cutting-edge, open-concept space dedicated to robotics, hands-on training, and STEM education. ? Yesterday, Chesapeake proudly honored Veterans Day by hosting a full day of engaging activities for our associates. We kicked off the day with a team breakfast, followed by morning and afternoon obstacle courses. Take flight over CCG Residential Construction's Waldorf Technology Park Apartments! Located in Waldorf, MD, this multifamily development will consist of seven mid-rise, Class A, elevator-served residential buildings, totaling 272 apartments. Designed to enrich the community, the project will feature two standalone clubhouse/fitness buildings, a pool, and various outdoor amenity areas. Currently, wood framing is underway for buildings 1-3 and the clubhouse, with MEP rough-ins and roof sheathing progressing in buildings 2 and 3. Underground plumbing has started at building 7. Next up, we’ll continue with utility installations, complete retaining wall 7, pour the elevator and CMU shaft for building 4, and begin framing building 6. Meet Ken Braswell - Business Development, Southeast Region and this month's Hard Hat Hang Up. ? Ken grew up in a builder's home, gaining hands-on experience in construction from an early age. After taking a break from the industry, he eventually returned, going on to co-own an architectural firm for nearly three decades. ? Working out of Chesapeake's Raleigh office, Ken is energized by the opportunities ahead and appreciates the company’s positive culture and dedication to quality craftsmanship. In his role in business development, he values humility and sees strong relationships and a solid reputation as essential to success. “Everyone has a role in building something greater than themselves,” he says. “It’s all about connecting with people and creating something lasting.” ? Outside of work, Ken enjoys spending time with his family, serving his community, and being active outdoors. This week, Chesapeake’s newly completed project, The Fresh Market in Crofton, MD, celebrated its grand opening! Located within Crofton Station, this 27,000 SF tenant fit-out features a variety of departments—including deli, bakery, meat & seafood, produce, floral, and back-of-house prep areas—alongside receiving and refrigeration rooms?and exterior wall upgrades. ? Chesapeake has been active in the grocery space since 1982. Since then, we have built more than 50 stores and collaborated with over nine distinguished grocery brands. This extensive experience underscores our deep understanding of the complexities unique to grocery store construction. Project Update | Sheehy Subaru ? Chesapeake is hard at work in Springfield, VA! ? Once complete, the new two-story Sheehy Subaru dealership in Fairfax County, VA, will feature a showroom, office space, a repair facility, and an open parking garage for motor vehicle display and sales. ? Currently, we're finalizing grading on the north parking lot and beginning grading on the lower-level parking area. Structural steel and decking for the parking garages are underway, and the radius wall for the showroom is taking shape. We're also preparing to pour the first-floor slab. ? Chesapeake is trusted by dealers to create facilities that welcome buyers, support sales, and ensure alignment with current brand standards.
