An Etowah Innovation Zone mom is the winner of this year’s annual CCSD School Nutrition Parent Recipe Contest! Vinutha Ramachandrachar earned the top prize for her Parsley Salad recipe. Her children, Pranav Vasishta and Pradhyumna Vasishta, attend E.T. Booth MS and Etowah HS. The sixth annual recipe contest, which highlights the designated state vegetable each year in honor of Farm to School Month, this year celebrated parsley with the theme “Par-Slay the Day.” Thank you to Credit Union of Georgia, a CCSD Partner, for sponsoring the prize. Her recipe also was enjoyed by students across CCSD today as part of the celebration. Learn more and get the recipe: https://lnkd.in/eGWznrUK #CCSDElevateTheExcellence

Booth Middle School Principal Todd Sharrock Why did you choose to become a Principal? I chose to become a Principal to help make a meaningful difference for both teachers and students. With a natural inclination for leadership, I enjoy helping people and solving problems, as well as guiding others to reach their full potential. The role of a school Principal aligns with my interests and passion for supporting education and fostering growth in others. What inspires you in your work as a Principal? I am inspired by the amazing leaders I have had the privilege to work with throughout my career, as well as by my father, who was an educator for 44 years. His dedication to the profession and the insights he shared with me from a young age have deeply influenced me. These individuals have shaped the leader I am today and continue to motivate me to be the best educator and leader possible. How are you Elevating the Excellence in your school? I Elevate the Excellence at my school through a simple mantra: "Is this best for our students?" Every decision is driven by the answer to this question, whether the need is academic, social, or emotional. If it's best for our students, we pursue it, regardless of the effort required. I also Elevate the Excellence by building the capacity of my staff, empowering them to lead in their respective areas. I believe in coaching them up, allowing them to take initiatives, and supporting them in their successes and growth opportunities.
