The hilly and mountainous areas of wet Oregon are fertile grounds for landslides.? When landslides occur across roads or other properties, the cost to restore the land and prevent further slides can be staggering.? Local and state agencies can require a landowner to bear these costs, even when they have done nothing wrong to cause the landslide.? CLG recently battled one insurance company and prevailed in obtaining a court ruling that insurance companies must defend landowners in such cases.? Stay tuned for more rulings in this case.
