We hosted new SWLA Economic Development Alliance President/CEO Scott Walker and Senior Vice President Michelle McInnis this week to show some of the major businesses at Chennault and their economic impact. Executive Director Kevin Melton led visits at Northrop Grumman, Citadel Completions LLC, and Louisiana Millworks/Masonite. Guides included Northrop Grumman Site Chief of Staff Glen Servy and Operations Manager Mark Redmond, Citadel Marketing Director @Michelle Savoy and Customer Experience Supervisor Stephanie Larson, and Louisiana Millworks Site Director Chad Trammell. More than 1,000 people work at businesses at Chennault.

NextGen Aviation L.L.C., which is expanding its multi-state footprint, has chosen Chennault for its new location. NextGen Aviation specializes in avionics installations and troubleshooting; RVSM certifications; and IFR and VFR certifications. It installs the most advanced avionics technology to maximize flight safety. Owner David Sprouse, a pilot himself, has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. He also was an avionics technician for the U.S. Air Force, responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of the avionics systems of F-16, F-117 and CV-22 aircraft. “Aviation can be even safer and more efficient with the application of new technologies,” Sprouse said. “The new technologies of today and tomorrow will help make aviation safer and more efficient. I can offer anyone a solution to make their aircraft safer and more efficient in a cost-effective manner.” “We welcome this new opportunity at the airport,” said Chennault Executive Director Kevin Melton. “General aviation is an important part of our mission and we have sought and will continue to seek opportunities for growth.
