A Special Purim Celebration at Cohen Florence Levine Estates & Florence & Chafetz!? Smiles, laughter, and joy filled the air as residents, staff, families, and friends came together for our annual Purim Party! With Rabbi Sruli Baron leading prayers and sharing the story of Purim, festive masks and costumes, live music, and delicious hamentaschen, it was a day to remember. Congratulations to our Purim royalty! Resident Allen Winecor was crowned King, and Sandra Maddeford was crowned Queen, presiding over the celebration with grace and good humor. Purim, a holiday symbolizing triumph and resilience, was celebrated across all Chelsea Jewish Lifecare campuses in Chelsea and Peabody—bringing our community together in the spirit of joy, music, and tradition. #PurimCelebration #ChelseaJewishLifecare

Massachusetts Senator Joan Lovely, who represents the 2nd Essex District (Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, and Salem), visited the Jeffrey & Susan Brudnick Center for Living on Friday. During her visit, she toured the facility, met with the team, and engaged in discussions about the challenges facing skilled nursing facilities and potential solutions for the future. We sincerely appreciate Senator Lovely’s time and commitment to supporting our community and the long-term care industry.

Last Tuesday night, our residents at Cohen Florence Levine Estates had a blast baking hamantashen with the help of the Elijah Society! We filled them with lemon, raspberry, apple, poppyseed, and prune—a delicious variety for everyone to enjoy!? While the cookies baked to golden perfection, we kept the fun going with a lively game of charades and a fast-paced round of "Bring Me" (where teams raced to bring requested items to the facilitator).? Yesterday, our residents at Florence & Chafetz enjoyed a delicious Italian Pasta Bar lunch! We kicked things off with a singalong to That's Amore by Dean Martin (because what’s an Italian meal without a little music? ) Chef Richard wowed everyone with a spread of ravioli, spaghetti, baked ziti, and gnocchi, paired with a variety of savory sauces—puttanesca, marinara, white wine, and alfredo.? The residents at Harriet and Ralph Kaplan Estates Assisted Living enjoyed participating in a horticulture class in celebration of Tu B’Shevat. The class was led by Jennifer Ferringo, COTA, from Legacy Lifecare VNA, with assistance from Laurie Faria from the activities department. Occupational therapy incorporates horticultural planting therapy to enhance cognitive skills, motor skills, social interaction, strength, and fine motor coordination.

On Friday, Andrea Hillel, Executive Director of Harriett & Ralph Kaplan Estates, along with staff and residents showed their support by wearing red for National Wear Red Day. This was to help raise awareness on heart health and to support women’s health! A blood pressure clinic and cardiovascular education was also provided by Legacy Lifecare VNA & Hospice Nursing and Therapy Staff.
