Chef’s mission is to empower humans by accelerating the advent of intelligent machines in the world
关于我们
At Chef we believe that AI’s biggest impact will be on the physical world, representing 90% of Global GDP. In the food industry, for example, in 2023 there were 1,137,000 jobs unfilled in food preparation and service (Bureau for Labor Statistics). These growing labor shortages are forcing food companies to leave millions of dollars on the table every year in unmet demand. As this pain becomes more acute, food companies are more aggressively seeking out alternatives, including off-shoring more and more parts of the food supply chain to other countries where there is more labor available; this of course comes with its own significant risks for the US. Chef Robotics offers a new way for food companies to overcome their labor shortage and increase production volume using AI-enabled robots that mimic the flexibility of humans. Chef allows companies to maximize revenue by meeting demand, while keeping the American food supply chain onshore. Chef's mission is to accelerate the advent of intelligent machines in the world to empower humans to do what humans do best.

We recently sat down with Food Ingredients First to discuss how AI can help the food industry recover from the massive labor shortage it's facing and increase production. Thank you Insha Naureen for the great conversation - check it out at the link below!

Rather than requiring a large CapEx investment upfront, we offer our AI-enabled robots to customers via a RaaS model. This means that customers essentially lease out robots with all maintenance and service costs included in the monthly rental fee rather than needing to purchase robots upfront. This allows food companies to try our systems with minimal investment, and incentivizes us to continuously offer increased value so that our customers continue using our service. Check out the blog linked below for more on our RaaS model and it's symbiotic benefits!

Taking up the same footprint as one human, Chef systems can either be used alongside each other to fully automate a production line or side by side with humans to supplement the labor needed to complete a meal run. Each system is mounted on casters which makes them easy to reposition and to slide on and off production lines between runs. Whether a food company wants to fully automate their production lines or just needs a labor supplement, we've designed the systems to meet our partners' needs.

40 million servings ? We're thrilled to have reached this milestone, and excited for all that is to come!
Excited to announce that Chef robots have now produced 40,000,000 servings in production with our partners all over North America! To put this number into perspective, that’s about 4,800 tons of food plated by our meal assembly robots in total. From what we know, we have produced more meals than all other food robotics startups combined - and as we continue to scale and deploy more robots, this number only continues to grow. In robotics, we believe that production is the only thing that matters and thus we optimize heavily for shipping robots into the field and then maniacally keeping our customers happy. Producing more meals allows us to collect more production data, which ultimately creates momentum for our real-world AI data engine flywheel. Given that food is highly variable, high volumes of production data at customer sites over prolonged periods of time are essential for optimal model performance. The more data Chef collects in the field, the more its systems' performance improves; as performance improves, Chef’s robotic systems are utilized more and customers expand their robotic fleets; this expansion in turn creates more runtime in production leading to more training data, further accelerating the flywheel’s momentum. Our operations are continuing to expand. Chef’s customers include some of the largest frozen and fresh prepared food manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada, and we’re planning to expand to the U.K. market this year. It takes a great team to make all of this happen, and we’re excited to be actively growing ours. If you’re interested in joining us on our mission to accelerate the advent of Embodied AI in the physical world, please reach out!
