Chef’s mission is to empower humans by accelerating the advent of intelligent machines in the world
关于我们
At Chef we believe that AI’s biggest impact will be on the physical world, representing 90% of Global GDP. In the food industry, for example, in 2023 there were 1,137,000 jobs unfilled in food preparation and service (Bureau for Labor Statistics). These growing labor shortages are forcing food companies to leave millions of dollars on the table every year in unmet demand. As this pain becomes more acute, food companies are more aggressively seeking out alternatives, including off-shoring more and more parts of the food supply chain to other countries where there is more labor available; this of course comes with its own significant risks for the US. Chef Robotics offers a new way for food companies to overcome their labor shortage and increase production volume using AI-enabled robots that mimic the flexibility of humans. Chef allows companies to maximize revenue by meeting demand, while keeping the American food supply chain onshore. Chef's mission is to accelerate the advent of intelligent machines in the world to empower humans to do what humans do best.

30 million servings produced and counting! And the rate at which we produce meals is only accelerating from here ??
Chef has officially completed 30,000,000 servings in production! From what we know, we have produced more meals than all other food robotics startups combined. This rate is only accelerating: it took Chef 19 months to hit the first 10M, an additional 5.3 months to hit 20M, and only an additional 3.6 months to hit 30M. All of this means that our models continue to improve for our customers which means even more ingredients that Chef can work with and even better performance for our customers. To do this, we've scaled utilization of our existing fleet, deployed more robots to our existing customers, and scaled to more net new customers. We now have robots deployed in 7 cities across North America, where they are helping food companies supplement their work forces with a form of consistent and reliable labor that is equipped with the flexibility to assemble hundreds of thousands of different meal combinations. At Chef we believe that AI’s biggest impact will be on the physical world, representing 90% of Global GDP, in the form of Embodied AI. The food industry is one of the largest industries by labor force on the planet and Chef is one of the only AI-enabled robotics companies that is scaling robots at real-world customer sites in production environments. If you’re interested in joining us on our mission to accelerate the advent of Embodied AI in the physical world, please reach out!

It's an exciting day when you're featured in The Wall Street Journal! Automation in the food industry isn't slowing down; in fact, quite the opposite is happening. Food manufacturers are realizing the value that AI-enabled robotics can bring to production, offering a reliable, consistent form of labor equipped with the flexibility to assemble an endless combination of meals.
Thank you Bob Tita and The Wall Street Journal for covering trends in robotics and including Chef Robotics! Whereas some industries are slowing down on automation efforts, the food preparation and production industry is ramping up. Given the working conditions in food factories like long, physically strenuous shifts in nearly-freezing temperatures, there are some jobs that robots are just better suited to do than humans. If you're a food production company wanting to increase production volume, increase yield, or reduce costs, we'd love to chat!

Automation isn’t about replacing labor—it’s about helping you meet demand and scale with the resources you have. Many food manufacturers are facing a big challenge: they have more demand than they can handle, but not enough labor to run at full capacity. If you’ve got 10 production lines but only enough staff to run 8, that’s revenue being left on the table. With Chef Robotics, you can automate those additional lines, meet demand, increase throughput, and scale your operations without needing extra labor. Scaling AI-enabled robotics is hard. Having the right to team to do it with makes all the difference! We're proud to have built a team that consists of some of the most talented people in the industry.
While most of the Chef team is in the office full time, it's a special occasion when all of our in-field team members (deploying robots and ensuring our current customers are successful with robots) get to join us on the same day. At Chef, we've built a world-class team of roboticists and professionals committed to our mission to accelerate the advent of intelligent machines in the world come to life. And we have fun while doing it! We're hiring for several roles right now! If you're excited about the prospect of deploying thousands of robots into production today - not ten to twenty years down the line - we'd love to chat! https://lnkd.in/gQEewd4C

Intelligent automation is the future of the food industry. This article from A3 - Association for Advancing Automation does a great job of outlining the current state of food automation, and why it falls short. Status quo ingredient delivery tools like depositors and gravity dispensers can only go so far--when other factors like tray placement and orientation aren't perfectly controlled, these tools can't adapt to accommodate the variance. This is why AI-enabled robotics are revolutionary to the food industry. Chef's robots use AI and computer vision to react to the space around them, so that if a tray is oriented differently or is not placed at all, the system will recognize this and adapt it's ingredient placement action accordingly. Hear from Chef Robotics’ CEO on why traditional automation is falling short in the food industry. While fixed automation can handle narrow tasks, Rajat Bhageria points out that existing food assembly systems on the market struggle with high SKU mix and frequent changeovers. Chef’s AI-enabled systems are built for flexibility, adapting to ever-changing food components like a person would—but with the consistency and reliability of a machine.
