  • Did you know? ?? 40% of CACs across the nation serve rural communities, and The Children’s House is proud to be one of them! Recently, Brittney applied and was honored to be invited to represent us at the National Children's Alliance's first Rural CAC Convening in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. This special gathering brought together 100 leaders from 37 states to address unique challenges and celebrate the strengths of rural CACs. Earlier this year, a rural needs assessment highlighted six key themes for centers like ours which is what sparked our conversations: ?? Access to Resources and Impact on Services ?? Accreditation Resources and Support ??? Community Awareness and Outreach ?? Hiring and Staffing ?? Partnerships ?? Training and Education With these insights, we’re excited to continue making a lasting impact on the children and families we serve in our community! . . . #RuralCAC #ChildAdvocacy #CommunitySupport

  • ?????????????????? ???????????? ???????? ?? A huge thank you to Randi, Joan and Katherine, our incredible forensic nurses from Guthrie who make such a difference for children in our community. Each child who walks through our doors is offered a medical exam, and our nurses provide compassionate care that is both healing and vital to the justice process. The medical exams they conduct not only help gather evidence for investigations but also offer comfort and reassurance to children who may be feeling scared or vulnerable. With 83 exams completed last year—a 93% increase from the year before—we’re committed to supporting even more children this year, giving them a safe, caring environment to start their healing journey. Learn more about the vital role of our medical exams and the support they offer on our website: https://lnkd.in/eRUC9apK . . . #ForensicNursesWeek #HealingandJustice #ChildAdvocacy #SupportOurCommunity

  • ?? Last month, Sara had the incredible opportunity to attend the National Children's Alliance advanced training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in Denver, CO! ?? This specialized training prepares her to support youth with problematic sexual behaviors (PSB), providing them with safe, healing approaches for a path forward. Along with this in-person training, Sara will continue with virtual sessions and consultations, building her expertise in this essential area. Across the nation, 20-25% of cases handled by Children’s Advocacy Centers involve a child causing harm to another child. With the right support, treatment, and guidance provided through CACs, an incredible 98% of these children never repeat harmful behaviors, paving the way for a safe and positive future. This advanced training equips our team to offer these crucial interventions, helping to build a safer community for everyone. ?? ???????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????????? ???? ???? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ?????? ??????????'?? ???????????? ???????????? ??????????????????????.

She served on the Criminal Justice Alumni Panel alongside three other alumni from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, and Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. The panel sparked an inspiring discussion, exposing students to the wide range of career paths their Criminal Justice degrees can lead them to. Reflecting on her own journey, she highlighted the tremendous value of her internship experience while pursuing her degree, which broadened her perspective on victim services and later sparked her passion for nonprofit management within the field. ?? . . . #commonwealthuniversity #CUMansfield #CULockHaven #CUBloomsburg #CASSHCon #CriminalJustice #CareerPathways #Internship #InspiringFutureLeaders #CommunityImpact

  • Last night, Brittney attended the Suicide Prevention event hosted by County of Bradford Human Services. Kevin Hines, a mental health advocate, author, and speaker, shared his incredible story of being one of less than 1% of people to survive a suicide attempt by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge at 19. He now dedicates his life to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. At the event, we provided resources on child abuse prevention, including online safety, sextortion awareness, and how to find help. We also highlighted the free trauma therapy we offer to all children in Bradford County at no cost. Brittney had the opportunity to speak with Kevin afterward for one of his upcoming vlogs. They discussed the vital role of Children’s Advocacy Centers, the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and the importance of accessible mental health care for children. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or experiencing abuse, know that help is available. Reach out to us or visit our website at www.chcac.org for more resources and support. ???? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????? ?????????????? & ???????????? ???????????????? ???? 988 ?????? ????????, ???????????????????????? ?????????????? 24/7.
