?? ATRIUM: Advancing Frontier Research in the Arts & Humanities Summer School on Automatic Text Recognition ?? September 1 – 5, 2025 ?? Berlin, Germany This five-day training event is designed for researchers, digital humanists, and cultural heritage professionals looking to enhance their OCR (optical character recognition) and HTR (handwritten text recognition) skills using?open-source?tools like eScriptorium. Participants will receive expert-led training, engage in hands-on sessions, and work on their own projects with personalized feedback. Participation is free of charge and a?stipend is available to cover travel, accommodation, and food costs. ?? Another ATRIUM TNA Scheme Fellowship in Poznań: Dr. Péter Király on Bibliographic Data and Translations ?? This week, we’re excited to share that Dr. Péter Király, a programmer and researcher from GWDG - Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH G?ttingen, is visiting Poznań as part of the ATRIUM: Advancing Frontier Research in the Arts & Humanities. Dr. Király is hosted by the Department of Current Bibliography (Pracownia Bibliografii Bie??cej Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBL PAN)), where Dr. Cezary Rosiński is providing expert support in data science. During his visit, Dr. Király will focus on: ?? Assessing the quality of bibliographic data from the European Literary Bibliography (ELB, https://lnkd.in/dTQyVfBj). ??? Developing tools for analyzing translation patterns in literary texts. ?? Comparing bibliographic data from various sources to identify similarities and differences in translation practices across Central Europe. ?? Contributing to the development of open-source tools and knowledge sharing. The ATRIUM: Advancing Frontier Research in the Arts & Humanities project continues to push the boundaries of collaboration in the field of digital humanities, and this visit highlights the growing importance of international partnerships and open data.
