Building a community without hunger in Chatham County.
关于我们
CORA is a nonprofit organization that serves residents facing food insecurity in Chatham County, North Carolina. Our ultimate goal at CORA is to build a community without hunger by collecting and purchasing healthy food for distribution through our food pantry, related programs, and network of local partners. CORA envisions a community without hunger. A healthy, strong, and connected community where all people have equitable access to abundant, safe, nutritious, and culturally relevant food. Through our work, we will help build a healthy Chatham County, a place where families thrive, children do well in school, and seniors do not face the stress of choosing between food and other necessities.

We are thrilled to announce that CORA has been awarded a generous $25,000 grant from the JA Grifols Foundation to support our SNACK! (Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids) program. This vital funding will help us continue our mission to ensure that every child in Chatham County has access to nutritious food, even when school is out for the summer. CORA is now sourcing fresh lettuce from Drip Culture Farm! Drip Culture is a local hydroponic container farm that uses sustainable practices to maximize food production and minimize their carbon footprint. In keeping with our values of stewardship and sustainability, we are thrilled to support sustainable local agriculture and provide this gorgeous fresh produce for our neighbors! It's a win-win!

Today, CORA is celebrating the one-year anniversary of reopening as a choice pantry, where neighbors shop the pantry like a grocery store to select the nutritious foods their families enjoy. We are so grateful to our incredible volunteers, supporters, and partners who have made this welcoming space possible!

Many students eagerly await school vacation weeks, but for some, it means missing out on the daily support they receive at school. During school vacations, after-school hours, on weekends, and during summer breaks, it becomes challenging for students to access nutritious meals. This can lead to food insecurity among children in our community. Learn how CORA helps families during these difficult times. https://lnkd.in/eHdFduRk https://lnkd.in/eVSqiKw9
