We were honored to host Congressman Shri Thanedar at the CHASS Center for an insightful conversation with our leaders and representatives from the Michigan Primary Care Association on Friday, February 21, 2025. The discussion focused on the critical funding challenges health centers face and the importance of supporting initiatives that strengthen our communities’ health and well-being. Key topics included: ? Protecting and expanding **Medicaid** to ensure access to care for all. ? Safeguarding the **340B Program**, which helps provide affordable medications to those in need. ? Advancing **Telehealth** services to improve access to care, especially in underserved areas. ? Supporting programs that **expand the primary care workforce** to meet growing healthcare demands. Thank you, Congressman Thanedar, for taking the time to listen and engage with our leaders. Your commitment to addressing these issues is a testament to your dedication to improving healthcare access and equity for all. #CommunityHealth #MedicaidMatters #340BProgram #Telehealth #PrimaryCare #HealthEquity #CHASSCenter #MPCA #ShriThanedar #valuechcs

#TeamCHASS was honored to meet with the staff of Congressman Shri Thanedar, Senator Gary Peters, and Senator Elissa Slotkin at the 2025 National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Policy & Issues Forum in Washington, DC the week of February 10th to discuss and highlight the critical challenges #FQHCs face. ??We thank them for taking the time to meet with the Community Health Center representatives from their districts in #Detroit while we advocate for ensuring access to essential care. ??We encourage everyone to use their voices—your #advocacy is vital in delivering a unified message about the need for bipartisan legislation that provides long-term, sustainable funding for #FQHCs. We are incredibly proud of Gloria Palmisano, former Chronic Disease Management Program Manager at CHASS Center, for her work in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) in #Detroit. She recently spoke with Café y Chisme, Planet Detroit's Southwest #Detroit community news column, about the CBPR model and the importance of cultural integration in #SouthwestDetroit. This approach aims to address social determinants of health—non-medical factors like race, income, diet, and exposure to pollutants that influence health outcomes. ??Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eHGwNVwm
