When you think about health care what comes to mind? Medical exams? Health insurance? Shots? At Chase Brexton Health Care, we think about ‘care.’ When patients come to Chase Brexton for their health care, they receive more than medical attention. Patients receive personalized, collaborative care and superior quality treatment focused on them. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Joint Commission accredited, Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide a range of clinical services from pediatrics and adult medical care to behavioral health services and dental, among others, and welcome more than 40,000 patients annually. And, though we continue to grow, our patient-centered approach remains; we are passionate about providing personalized care to each of our patients. At Chase Brexton, we seek to foster a culture that promotes staff development and satisfaction.     We recently offered Mt. Vernon Center patients free toiletries and clothing items donated by our friends at Morgan Stanley! Approximately 50 patients came through to select items. Our patients also wrote thank you notes, which were delivered back to Morgan Stanley. Thank you to case manager Andy Zipay for organizing this awesome giveaway, and to Morgan Stanley for donating these items.

    Today we're celebrating International Pronoun Day! #PronounDay Graphic Text: 1: It's International Pronoun Day 2: International Pronoun Day: Beginning in 2018, International Pronoun Day was started to spread awareness and education about personal pronouns and how we use them. It is a day of respect, dignity, and learning. 3: Inclusive Language: When we write, we should avoid gender assumptions as much as possible. 4: In Greetings. Instead of, "Good morning, ma'am" try: "Good Morning", "Can I help the next patient?", "Do you need instructions" 5: In Writing. Instead of "she/he should check in with HR" try, "they should check in with HR", "staff should check in with HR", "team members should check in with HR."

    Today is National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, an opportunity to help address the disproportionate impact of HIV in Hispanic/Latinx communities, promote HIV testing, and stop HIV stigma. According to the U.S. Office of Minority Health, in 2022 Hispanic males were four times more likely to have either HIV or AIDS compared to non-Hispanic white males, and Hispanic females were 19 times more likely to have AIDS than non-Hispanic White females.     Are you ready for flu season? Protect yourself and your loved ones this winter by getting a flu shot! If you are a Chase Brexton patient, ask your provider about a flu shot at your next visit. Or, you can also stop by our Mt. Vernon, Glen Burnie or Security Square Centers, Monday-Friday, from 10:00 AM to 3:40 PM.
