In honor of Veterans Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. We recognize that freedom comes at a cost, secured and protected by those who wear the uniform of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. At Chartwell Law, we are especially proud to honor our own veterans who have selflessly served—and some who continue to serve—our country. We are grateful for their leadership, integrity, and extraordinary commitment, which enrich our firm and inspire us every day. Please join us in recognizing: ? Chuck Barreras (Army Reserve, 1982-1996) ? E. Taylor George (Navy, 2000-2022) ? Jamar Green (Navy, 2020-2023) ? William Seth Howard (Navy Reserve, 14 years) ? Derek E. Lewis ? Cristine Poole ? Kevin Riefenstahl (Navy, 1987-1989) ? Dean Sorensen To all veterans, thank you for your service and the sacrifices you have made to defend our freedoms. Your dedication strengthens both our nation and our firm. #ChartwellLaw #VeteransDay #Salute #Honor #Remembrance #Proud

Have you heard? Last Tuesday Governor Shapiro signed Senate Bill 1232 into law. This Bill was introduced by Senator Pennycuick and took a long and winding road before being signed. Senate Bill 1232 mirrors House Bill 760. The Bill was signed into law as Act 126 of 2024. This Act shall take effect in sixty days but sets forth a one-year compliance period. If your company is not currently set up to process wage loss payments through direct deposit, the Act states that you must comply within one year of the effective date of the law. Senate Bill 1232 is expected to reduce issues with receipt of timely disability payments through the mail. It likewise is expected to reduce the filing of a Petition for Penalties due to late payment.
