The idea of research internships for students is not new, and in place in several institutions, but may be underused in business schools. In this case study by Dr Kamilya Suleymenova, Associate Professor, Birmingham Business School and co-authored with two of her students, they present the argument that a research internship (RI) is beneficial to students, academic colleagues, and generally to the building of a business school community. Pleased to participate in the closing panel of the annual conference of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS) in London along with distinguished colleagues Julia Clarke, Stewart Robinson and Professor Eileen McAuliffe PhD. The topic of the panel discussion was "Future Proofing Business Schools". I made the point that business schools have the luxury of almost unlimited demand today for their product which is business education. The challenge that business schools face is thus not external, but rather internal: their ability to be agile and to innovate with their products and services to fit the unlimited market demand.
