A highlight for our @charmlitmag Summer Publishing Interns was visiting @afrocharities and exploring the @afronews archives—over 200 years of articles, letters, photos, and artifacts documenting Black life in Baltimore. One intern, Sukarno Richardson, found an article about his grandfather in the archives! Reflecting on the visit, Sukarno writes: “I really remembered the expansiveness of the space. It gave a sense of the scale and tangibility to Black history in Baltimore. Not only that, but the large number of empty shelves kinda made me feel like the history’s not finished.” Thank you Deyane and the @afrocharities team for this experience, and for spending your afternoon with us! ??
