This past week, a team of Charlotte Water employees participated in a "Career on Wheels" event at Charlotte Lab School. Omar White, Michael Stinson, and Alexander Hayner, M.Ed. provided first and second grade students with an up-close learning opportunity about the incredible technology that goes into a vactor truck, as well as explain the important role preventative maintenance plays in our utility’s infrastructure and the community we serve. The students were very engaged and excited about the experience, and the visit may have inspired some future water workers! #cltwaterinthecommunity

Thank you for your service William!
For the final feature in this year's Our Veterans series, we're introducing you to William Lee from Charlotte Water. The current Utilities Operations Manager began his life of service in the Army before finding his way to Charlotte. He believes the Army made him into the leader he is today, but it also allowed him to leave a unique legacy in California, where he served. Get to know Lee in our last #VeteransDay story of 2024, and be sure to tune in again next year to continue to learn more about #OurVeterans.

As Asheville continues to restore water services, we are honored to join forces with our fellow NCWaterWARN utilities for continued support. We have deployed a 14-person construction team to Asheville for a weeklong mission—our largest effort so far. We are proud of our team’s commitment to helping our WNC partners and neighbors! #OneWaterStrong

Sweet victory! Charlotte Water honey wins first prize in the Mecklenburg Beekeepers Association’s annual honey tasting contest! The best tasting honey was a mixture including nectar sources from the McAlpine Creek WWMF and the Irwin Creek WWTP. McAlpine Creek has approximately 8 hives and Irwin Creek has 3 hives, managed by Charlotte Water staff. Kudos to Will Rice, Jeff Dieker, and Sherron Badour for your hard work in making this possible! #OneWater #Sustainability Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eEV2HWv6
