I'm really pleased to serve on the Local Impact Investing Committee of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation. The committee is a new effort to help the Foundation identify "investment opportunities that achieve measurable community impact and financial return across the Central Virginia region." Our Solidarity program for racial equity #movementbuilding is now accepting applications through April 15 for #Renewal and #Reimagine grants. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/eCqtgvHx ??Renewal Grants of up to $25,000 provide movement groups with wellness and reparative support, whether it be spiritual, physiological, or interpersonal. Requests can be for sabbaticals, collective healing work, “joyful resistance,” coalition building, and conflict resolution/mediation. ??Reimagine Grants of up to $50,000 seek to encourage nonconformity, creativity, and experimentation by supporting idea research and development, planning, visioning, pausing, resetting, restructuring or, when necessary, closing. Applicants can also request funding for short-term/one-time professional services support, such as nonprofit legal or accounting assistance, and support for staff/volunteer training that enhances your movement building capacity. The Call for LOIs for #ReshapingFutures Grants — $500,000 max. for 1-5 years — opens this summer. ??Great news! The judge presiding over our case - National Council of Nonprofits et al vs. Office of Management and Budget - GRANTED another Temporary Restraining Order against the admin’s ability to halt federal grants and loans!! The DOJ’s motion to dismiss was DENIED. OMB is ENJOINED from implementing, giving effect to, or reinstating under a different name the directive to halt federal spending broadly. OMB must provide notice to all federal agencies, and instruct all such agencies to release any funding that was paused under the directive. Much more to come but make no mistake - this is a significant setback to the administration’s plans to halt federal funding. Onward!
