Yesterday, we recognized many achievements within our team including awarding our 2024 Team Member of the Year, Jelica Augustinovic. Jelica is a team member you can count on to assist and support in any way possible, always has a positive attitude, and lights up a room when she walks in. Congratulations Jelica! We also celebrated the 12 winners of our employee referral program as well as 45 years of service from Vanessa Sweat and 30 years of service from Betty Council. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate these amazing accomplishments!

Last Thursday, CCC staff helped make 800 sandwiches for the homeless for Roof Above. Roof Above is a homeless service serving 1,200 people per day through street outreach, day services, emergency shelters, and permanent supportive housing. We are thankful for all of the team members who participated in making sandwiches!

Charlotte Country Club recently had the honor of celebrating Mack Ferguson’s remarkable 70th work anniversary at the Club, while also officially dedicating the Mack Ferguson Golf Facility in his name. The event was a true celebration of Mack’s legacy, with Mack himself in attendance alongside three generations of his family. The outpouring of support from members and staff was deeply appreciated by Mack and his family. Everyone who participated in the event contributed to a memorable occasion that truly honored Mack’s extraordinary contributions to the Club.

Our very talented team member, Jackson Williams (golf), wrote a wonderful holiday poem about Charlotte Country Club! "Beneath December’s softened skies, Where Donald Ross left his prize, Charlotte’s greens, a hallowed ground, In winter’s hush, pure joy is found. The oaks stand tall, their branches bare, Adorned with frost, a tranquil stare. The fairways stretch in stripes of gold, A timeless beauty, calm yet bold. Tom Wilcox greets with knowing cheer, Cole Vuurmans’ voice rings crisp and clear. Eric Williamson guides the way, Ensuring magic fills the day. The members play, their spirits light, On Christmas Eve, ’neath fading light. A gentle breeze, a perfect putt, The echoes of a well-struck cut. The clubhouse hums with festive charm, A place of warmth, a safe disarm. Yet on the course, the heart does sing, Where nature’s gifts and golf take wing. So here’s to Charlotte’s rolling green, A masterpiece serene, pristine. At Christmas time, its story told, A bond of joy, both young and old." Thank you for those lovely words, Jackson!

Our annual holiday event, the Jolly Jamboree, was a success! Team members from all departments came together to celebrate the season with sweet treats, a raffle, trivia, an ugly sweater contest, and prizes. It was the perfect way to relax, have fun, and connect with each other during this busy holiday season. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so special. Your enthusiasm and holiday spirit truly made the Jolly Jamboree a memorable occasion.?

We recently had the privilege of hosting two incredible student groups pursuing a future in hospitality! First, we welcomed?150 hospitality students?from across the country for the?Club Managers Assn of America (CMAA) Student Conference. Over three days, these aspiring professionals engaged in enriching discussions and heard a special panel discussion with Priscilla Eich, who shared her journey of becoming a General Manager. We kicked off the event with breakfast, followed by educational sessions and a tour of our facilities. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect and inspire the next generation of leaders in our industry! Additionally, we hosted?20 students from Livingstone College, who are studying Hospitality and Culinary Arts. This visit marked the beginning of a promising partnership, where we discussed internship opportunities and provided them with a firsthand look at our operations.
