I am proud of what has been built at Charleston Hope since I was 18 years old. 12 years later, a lot of different paths, and now here we are -- narrowed in and focused on the mission at hand. We're providing mental health therapy and programs to students in our high-poverty schools. The vision -- to see every Title 1 school in the tri-county areas with a strong mental health program. Can you imagine what the generation behind us would look like if every kid had access to the mental health care they need? Join us in the fight to increase mental health access and reduce rates of anxiety, depression and suicide in our youth. https://lnkd.in/ePdd8RaH

"According to a recent report from the Boston Consulting Group, 77% of youth in South Carolina with a major depressive episode do not receive any mental health treatment. This is well above the national average of 60%. In 2021, leading organizations declared a National State of Emergency in children’s mental health. Additionally, in 2022, the mental health counselor-to-student ratio 2022 was 1:1,300 in South Carolina. Charleston Hope’s journey began in 2011 when executive director Emily Kerr brainstormed from her kitchen table how she could help enact real change. Since then, Charleston Hope has grown exponentially, thanks to the unwavering support of community members. This year alone, Charleston Hope expects to provide more than 1,000 hours of mental health support to students." As we approach the end of the year, we are so grateful for the kindness and support we have received this year! Your support has fueled our mission, creating a year of impact and growth. Due to this growth, we can expand our THRIVE program to Pepperhill Elementary, providing even more hours of counseling and therapy to Title 1 students in Charleston. Your support drives our mission, and we would love for you to be a part of our End-of-Year giving journey this year! There are 3 days left to make a difference this Holiday Season, and we have $10,000 left to raise! Please help us reach our goal of $30,000 to support our programs by considering an end-of-year donation to our organization! Below, I will attach the donation link; any?amount you can give will help support our programs! Donate here: https://lnkd.in/eTuS44t5 Happy Holidays!
