We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Elizabeth Underwood, our newest emergency veterinarian, to the CVRC family! ?? Since childhood, Dr. Underwood knew her passion for animals would lead her to veterinary medicine. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut (2012) and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University (2016). Dr. Underwood has extensive experience from her small animal rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists (NJ) and emergency roles in both New York and Texas. When she’s not saving lives, Dr. Underwood enjoys beach days, hiking with her husband and their dog Ryder, and horseback riding. We’re excited to have her expertise and dedication on our team! ??

Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) is the most advanced and comprehensive small animal referral and emergency hospital in the Lowcountry (greater Charleston, SC area). We see appointments by referral from your primary veterinarian and are open and staffed for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Specialties include emergency medicine, critical care, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, physical rehabilitation, sports medicine and theriogenology. Patients visit us from South Carolina and surrounding states. CVRC is a 24-hour specialty and emergency referral hospital located in West Ashley, about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston, SC. The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) has awarded us its highest certification for emergency and critical care, Level 1, making Charleston Veterinary Referral Center one of a select few veterinary hospitals in the nation and the only hospital in South Carolina to attain this recognition. Our goal is to deliver an exceptional patient and pet owner experience, which requires excellent medical, surgical and nursing care, as well as compassionate custom service. We firmly believe that our staff is the key to our success and to deliver on our goals.
