Meet our photographer for today’s Business & Brews - Jessica Yurinko! She’ll be set up to take head shots for anyone attending this evening’s event with Lt. Governor Evette: I grew up (though managed to keep my imagination) in Greensburg, PA. I studied Photography and Graphic Design at The Pennsylvania State University (we are...!) Soon after graduating and realizing how difficult it was to get a well-paid "photography job" I moved to the DMV with $400 in my bank account with a dream of starting Jessica Yurinko Photography, not knowing exactly what that entailed. Sometimes you have to burn your ships to make things happen! And I'm blessed to say I've "made it happen." I'm grateful to really be living my dream - taking pictures for a living. With another dream ofwarmer weather and the beach life, I've been based in Charleston, SC since 2018. Currently you may onboard me for Events & Portraits in the Washington, DC area, Charleston, SC Pittsburgh, PA, and any city that airplanes fly to. On average these days I'm taking about one airplane ride a week and I love living a transient lifestyle. I've earned a strong rapport with Washingtonians, giving way to photographing events on Capitol Hill, including congressional activities, lobby days, the National Tree Lighting Ceremony, the White House Easter Egg Roll, and even the 58th Presidential Inauguration. "From dogs to Presidents, she is adaptive to all environments with her camera." As of recent years, I'm enjoying all that the Lowcountry has to offer for photographers. After numerous failed attempts at establishing a sustainable business, they found themselves at a crossroads, contemplating their future. It was a serendipitous gathering of friends that ignited a spark they had never anticipated. Joe, affectionately known as Chef Giuseppe, showcased his culinary prowess by serving a homemade eggplant parmesan—a cherished family recipe passed down from his grandmother, a native of Naples, Italy. Motivated by their encouragement, Joe delved into the intricacies of food production. He researched proper bottling processes and developed a prototype for his signature sauce. As the couple embarked on the journey of establishing a legal manufacturing business, they faced the challenges of finding a commissary kitchen and navigating the registration for farmers' markets. On one particular day, seated outside a Piggly Wiggly in North Charleston, Joe experienced an epiphany—an insightful nudge from faith that inspired him to approach the store manager. To his astonishment, the manager ordered six cases of sauce on the spot. Within weeks, the demand grew as additional stores began placing orders. The pivotal moment came when C&S Wholesale Grocers encouraged Joe to expand his product line. Fueled by determination, he returned to the kitchen and developed ten more specialty foods, ultimately propelling Apastioli's sales velocity to unprecedented heights. Within just eight months, Joe was servicing 15 stores with over 20,000 jars of sauce, culminating in an exciting approval from 170 Food Lion stores across South Carolina, with a promising prospect of securing orders from all 1,100 locations. However, burgeoning demand revealed a significant obstacle: the leased facility could not keep pace with production needs. Confronted with a choice, Joe and Ryan chose to think bigger. Ryan's lifelong dream of cultivating a farm, rescuing animals, and preserving ecosystems became a guiding vision. They envisioned acquiring over 1,000 acres to establish not only a thriving farm but also a 25,000 sq. ft. facility—a farm-to-table destination that would include luxury cabins, an event center for educational workshops, gift shops, spas, and even goat yoga. As interest surged from over 3,000 retailers in Apastioli's products, the couple recognized a vital need for investors to secure the land and create hundreds of meaningful jobs.
