When a person becomes homeless, it affects every aspect of their life. They feel helpless and hopeless, and the impact goes far beyond their health and self-esteem, affecting their ability to provide for their family and their future. As the private sector partner of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, operating two Homeless Assistance Centers in downtown Miami and Homestead, we have continually been recognized as a national model for our comprehensive approach to helping the homeless. Our Mission Statement Provide comprehensive programs and services in collaboration with others that empower our residents with dignity and respect to overcome homelessness and achieve and maintain long-term self-sufficiency. Since its founding in 1995, Chapman Partnership has had more than 120,000 admissions including, 25,000 children in Miami-Dade County. Chapman Partnership operates two Homeless Assistance Centers with 800 beds located in downtown Miami and Homestead. The average length of stay for single adults is 89 days and families with children 133 days with an 86% success rate of moving people who complete the program from homelessness to self-sufficiency. At Chapman Partnership, we empower homeless men, women, and children to build a positive future by providing the resources and assistance critical to growth and independence. We provide a comprehensive support program that includes emergency housing, meals, health, and psychiatric care, daycare, job training, job placement, and assistance with securing stable housing.

Celebrating Women's History Month Through Action This month, our team had the opportunity to support two remarkable groups that are making a real impact on the lives of women.? ? Girl Power Rocks: Focused on mentoring and educating young girls, Girl Power Rocks hosted their annual Black History Brain Bowl. We contributed by donating four laptops to help equip the next generation of leaders with the tools they need to thrive. As many know, I recently gave birth to a baby boy. Becoming a mother is the best thing has ever happened to me. During pregnancy, I received so much support, love, advice and gifts. But, no amount of advice can prepare you for the day maternity leave ends and you have to be separated from your baby. There’s no sugar coating it, it’s not easy. There’s days I miss my son like crazy and some days where I welcome the break and cherish the adult time. There’s no manual when you’re returning to work and your mind and body are still adjusting to motherhood. It’s a huge transition and it’s easy for the feelings of guilt and sadness to set in. However, I have had the best experience going back to work and can only thank the culture at Chapman Partnership for that. I am beyond thankful my work family has welcomed my son into our family as if he’s their own! He is always welcome, everyone loves him and I have been given the time and space to gradually transition back into work. There is no better feeling than a job that values family. While the transition isn’t always easy, I know I have love and support from everyone around me and I couldn’t be more grateful. There is no better title than MOM. ??
