It’s Been an Absolute Pleasure! Serving first responders, veterans, our youth, and the greater community as the CEO of the Changing Cadence Foundation has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life. Our mission has been simple but profound: to empower individuals and strengthen our community through acts of service, leadership, and meaningful engagement. From the very beginning, I set out to be a beacon of encouragement, lifting up new leaders in our community and creating opportunities for collective growth. This vision inspired the creation of the foundation, allowing us to connect, collaborate, and build a brighter future together. As I prepare to close this chapter to focus on writing my book, I want to reflect on some of the amazing things we’ve achieved together: 1. Donated $700 to the ROSEVILLE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE INC (RPAL): RPAL is a vital organization focused on mentoring youth through sports, education, and community engagement, building trust and fostering strong relationships between law enforcement and the community. 2. Annual Memorial Day Walk for Placer County: With over 200 participants, this event boosted community morale, deepened connections, and raised funds for the Sgt. Nicole Gee Memorial Foundation, which honors the legacy of Sgt. Gee by supporting Gold Star families and veterans in need. 3. Sent Over 400 Care Packages to Veterans Overseas: Together, we made a difference in the lives of those serving far from home, delivering gratitude, encouragement, and much-needed supplies. 4. Local News Appearances: Our work and events were highlighted across multiple media outlets, showcasing the positive impact we’ve made together. 5. Helped Relaunch the Sacramento Veterans Day Parade: Collaborating with others, we revived this important tradition to honor those who have served our country. 6. Sponsored an award for the City of Roseville awards: Celebrating the extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond in serving our community. 7. Created the First-Ever Community Flag Football Tournament: A fun, family-friendly event that brought people together in the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie. This journey has been a powerful reminder that leadership is often about the quiet, behind-the-scenes work that lays the foundation for visible success. Whether in small acts or big initiatives, we’ve made a difference, and I hope it inspires you to find ways to lead in your own corner of the world. To all aspiring leaders: step up when the opportunity arises. Where there’s a chance to lend a helping hand, do so. True leadership is about service, resilience, and setting an example for others to follow. It was a good run! Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Now, onto the next adventure! Sincerely, Nick B.

From our CEO, Nick Busse. The greatest lesson I've learned through my military service, combat tours in Iraq, being a father, and observing the world and our nation is that unity is our most powerful asset. A divide of people and opinion is easily constructed by noise and neglect naturally, as we are human. But the uniform I wore and the tough challenges, both physical and mental, that I endured with men and women by my side, all displaying the same uniform and flag on their shoulder, remind me of togetherness. It reminds me of what a true symbol of unification looks like, and its value echoes across our nation. Fatherhood, with its screaming children and moments where my foot finds the sharpest point of a revengeful Lego, reminds me of the importance of our children's smiles and love, even when it's difficult. The moral is, we can come together, unite, and tap into the important positive side of things if we eliminate the noise and distractions. #RememberThis #ThankYouVeterans #FamilyIsEverything #Unification Veteran Community Business Chamber (VCBC) Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Programs Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service Bob Woodruff Foundation U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs US Army U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) USAREC United States Marine Corps US Veterans Magazine US Navy United States Department of Defense United States Air Force United States Space Force Roll Out PTSD Victory Bridge Foundation Fox News TV USA TODAY Military Times Military Influencer Sierra Pregnancy + Health Bayside Church

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Memorial Day Walk in Placer County, aimed to elevate our patriotic spirit, enhance respect and honor for our fallen heroes, and raise funds to service veterans in need through the Changing Cadence Foundation. this event will raise not just awareness of our heroes who have sacrificed everything for our country, but also help veterans who face troubling issues in life such as mental health and isolation. We want to provide a support system for those on the brink of suicide or facing PTSD. This year, we are partnering with Roll Out PTSD a Changing Cadence fellow nonprofit, who takes veterans out of the house staring at the walls in isolations, and offers a weeks cohort of developing purpose, capability, and a rekindled love for nature. We look to fun as many veteransas we can from our very own Placer County, and send them to the Roll Out PTSD site in beautiful Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Here, they will work on projects with fellow veterans as a foundational family, and spend much time on the water paddle boarding, hiking, and experiencing the forgotten beauty of being out in nature. The goal is to return these heroes back home with a new lens of life to look through. Please, join us on this walk 25 May, and if you can, donate. The smallest of gestures can have a huge impact on somebody vulnerable before it’s too late. Thank you! Please "DONATE" if you are able.
