Thanks to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for supporting our enforcement efforts throughout the year. Together, we’re making?#ChandlerAZ?safer. Grant Allocation and Program Highlights: The grant funding will be allocated to the following key initiatives: ? $25,000 for Occupant Protection Overtime: Focused on seat belt enforcement details to ensure compliance with safety regulations. ? $30,000 for Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Enforcement: Dedicated to improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists through targeted enforcement and educational outreach. ? $61,670 for DUI and Impaired Driver Enforcement: Supporting participation in DUI Task Force operations to deter impaired driving and improve public safety. ? $35,000 for Motorcycle Safety Education and Awareness: Providing community education on motorcycle safety to reduce collisions and fatalities. ? $50,000 for the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP): Enhancing enforcement efforts against speeding, aggressive driving, and school zone violations while raising public awareness of these issues. #TrafficSafety #KeepChandlerSafe

Chandler PD's Fraud Prevention Unit Detectives want to warn you about 'smishing' or fraudulent text messages urging you to click on a link to enter personal information. ?? Beware of text messages telling you that 'your package delivery was unsuccessful' or advertising a great discount. ? Do not click on links or call numbers listed in these texts. ? Always use known, legitimate information for the associated company and independently determine if there is an issue to be resolved. One visit with a school resource officer and one police ride-along was all it took to spark Assistant Chief Melissa Deanda’s desire to become a police officer. Chief Deanda, one of just ten women on patrol when she began her career, became Chandler Police’s first female lieutenant, commander, and now assistant police chief.
