Miguel Vidal Sr. was among a collective front of Hispanic pioneering families who petitioned for the Winn School to be built and opened in 1929 in the Southside neighborhood. [T]he dynamic sister-duo - Beatrice Burciaga Martinez and Juanita Encinas... advocated for labor and workers rights by establishing a United Farm Workers (UFW) center in downtown Chandler during the Civil Rights movements.
