Mr. Chris Marsek '98 and his family hosted some of our resident students on their annual spring break trip last week. This year, they took our young men to Houston, TX, where they visited NASA Mission Control, took in a Houston Rockets game, spent some time at the beach, and a whole lot more. #EstoVir

A special message from the Tallon family: On behalf of the Tallon family, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support we’ve received from the Chaminade family. Jake started Chaminade in 7th grade and from the very beginning we knew Jake had found a special community of friends, educators and families. We have so many people to thank, it’s hard to know where to begin. First off, we’d like to thank Jake’s closest friends for being there throughout Jake’s journey, whether on the soccer pitch, the school halls, or playing video games, you brought joy to Jake everyday. Listening to you share your stories at Jake’s service brought comfort to us and we’re sure Jake was smiling as he remembered those special times. Thank you to the amazing parents who rallied together and gave their gift of time to create memory boards, slideshows, and coordinate the most touching tribute to our son. Thank you to the Chaminade administration for sharing the beautiful Skip Viragh Center with us so we could accommodate all those who wanted to share in the celebration of Jake’s life. Thank you to the Marianist Brothers for the beautiful service and support for our family. Thank you to the hundreds of people at the visitation who waited in line for hours to be able to comfort us with your condolences. Lastly, we want to thank you for the beautiful flowers and generous donations to the Chaminade Fund, Dalton’s Kids Foundation, and Meal Train. We hope everyone within the Chaminade community knows that what you have built is something awe inspiring and should never be taken for granted. To ensure other deserving young men can participate in the Chaminade experience, the Tallon family will be arranging a scholarship fund in Jake’s memory and we will share more information as it becomes available. Shoutout to the incredible CSPN crew for their top-notch coverage of Chaminade Basketball’s journey to the state final. For two days in Columbia, they captured every moment, every angle, and even took over the Chaminade Instagram to bring fans closer to the action. Huge thanks to Mr. Bell, Mr. Tull, and Mrs. Schneeberger for making this unforgettable experience possible for our students. #EstoVir
