The CGSC Foundation supports the Soldiers, families, staff, and faculty of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. The CGSC Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit educational foundation that provides resources and support to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) in the development of tomorrow’s military leaders. The CGSCF helps to advance the profession of military art and science by promoting the welfare and enhancing the prestigious educational programs of the CGSC. Our Vision The CGSC Foundation’s vision is to become a supporting organization that is widely recognized as the national leader in membership, programs, innovation, and support to the US Army Command and General Staff College to advance its core mission of educating leaders for the challenges of the 21st century. Our Mission CGSC Foundation support for the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College is in three general areas: Scholarship, Outreach, and Soldier & Family Support. Specifically, the mission of the CGSC Foundation is to: ? Enrich the College’s academic environment ? Foster a strong relationship between the military and the private sector ? Enhance the institution’s research activities ? Promote leader development ? Encourage excellence in the faculty and student body ? Maintain contact with alumni The Foundation supports the College’s many areas of focus by providing financial and research support for symposia, conferences, and lectures, as well as funding and organizing community outreach activities that help connect the American public to their Army. The CGSC Foundation is funded through private donations and its board of trustees is staffed with distinguished retired military leaders, business executives, community leaders and others who are focused on providing the margin of excellence to the educational programs of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Join us next Thursday, Sept. 26, for "No Sacrifice Too Great: The 1st Infantry Division in WWII" with Col. (Ret.) Gregory Fontenot - https://lnkd.in/gdR4VY78. This Distinguished Speakers Series event will be held at the Riverfront Community Center (123 S. Esplanade Street, Leavenworth, Kansas). The reception begins at 5:30 pm, dinner begins at 6:00 pm, and Col. Fontenot's presentation begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door. Col. (Ret.) Gregory Fontenot?served in the U.S. Army as an armor officer for more than 28 years at duty locations in the United States, Europe, the Balkans and Southwest Asia. His key assignments included commanding a battalion during Operations Desert Shield and Storm and a brigade in Bosnia. As an educator he taught history at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and was director of the U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In his last assignment he commanded the Battle Command Training Program at Fort Leavenworth. Fontenot has authored numerous articles and book reviews in?"Army"?magazine,?"Military Review"?and other publications, and he continues to support the U.S. Army as a consultant on threat emulation and leadership.
