Back in October, CFR's Nick Kutchi, PE, LC attended the Nittany Lights event, a collaboration between Penn State Architectural Engineering students and lighting design professionals. The workshop encourages creativity and teamwork, as participants create lighting mockups across the campus. Nick assisted the student teams with his expert guidance on specialty design considerations. Nick’s journey with Nittany Lights comes full circle, making his involvement even more meaningful. He first participated as a PSU student in 2006 at the event’s inception, returned as a professional designer on a team in 2008, and now, in 2024, continues his involvement with the event. CFR provided the #MEP design for the renovation of a 52,441 sq. ft. office space into a cutting-edge lab/office mixed-use environment for Precision Labs in Germantown, MD. With a 60/40 lab-to-office ratio, this fit-out includes state-of-the-art HVAC, lab exhaust systems, and modernized plumbing and electrical infrastructure to support multiple lab tenants.
