We recently visited Belong! Vienna, a 2024 Grantee of the Child and Youth Development Fund! BELONG! provides crucial weekly after-school mentoring to 81 immigrant and refugee children (K-8) from low-income families, helping them grow through reading and math support. Thanks to our grant, BELONG! can now offer more learning resources and enhance staff capacity, supporting the success of these young learners. As our new Data Scientist & Analysis Intern, Katharyn will play an essential role in helping us analyze local trends, bring together civic leaders, and inspire civic and social action across Northern Virginia. Katharyn is currently a second-year master’s student at Georgetown University, pursuing a degree in Data Science for Public Policy. She brings a wealth of experience supporting nonprofits, research organizations, and federal agencies with data collection and analysis. Most recently, she served as a Data Analyst Summer Fellow at the U.S. Census Bureau and is also an AmeriCorps State and National Alumna.
