Strengthening our community through philanthropy.
关于我们
The mission of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region is to strengthen our community through philanthropy. We do this in collaboration with donors and community partners who share our vision for community transformation through stewardship of charitable endowments, superior donor services, effective grantmaking, and leadership to address community needs. Since 1968, the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region has worked to improve the quality of life in the region by promoting and facilitating effective philanthropy. Our success is directly related to our generous donors who invest through the Community Foundation in our area’s most effective nonprofit organizations.

Thank you Ezra P. Scott Jr, MBA, M.Ed! ?? ?? ??
Excited to Announce! Today, I proudly graduated from the The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region Catalysts for Change Leadership Program, an incredible 10-week journey hosted by the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region. This program has equipped me with invaluable skills in nonprofit board governance, a deeper understanding of diversity and inclusion, and the opportunity to connect with amazing leaders and organizations. I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learned into action by supporting local nonprofits and driving meaningful, equitable change in our community. Thank you to John Eberle, Shatoya M., Dylan Hall and everyone who made this experience so impactful! #Leadership #CommunityImpact #CatalystsForChange

We were honored to visit the SEAT Center (Social Enterprise and Training Center) last week and learn about the five social enterprise programs that are transforming lives and futures of Capital Region young people. Community Foundation staff enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the Build Up Culinary students. This program trains students to begin a career in the culinary and hospitality industry.

Earlier this week, Tamika Goode-Otis left us with so many valuable gems on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion during our The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, Catalyst for Change meeting. If you would have asked me what equity means prior to Tuesday, I would have said, "equal/fair" when it's really giving each individual person the resources they need to reach THEIR equal outcome. ?? Sometimes, that may seem unfair and that's when we have to pause and focus on the impact we a working to create collectively. Thank you, Dylan Hall, Shatoya M., and John Eberle for another great presenter. #DEI #LEADERSHIP #CHANGEMAKERS

This evening at the 2024 Catalyst for Change Leadership Program—Cohort 4 with The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region was truly phenomenal! I had the privilege of witnessing the incredible Kathleen McLean (she/her/hers) MBA, CSW of The McLean Collective up close as she guided us through an influential class on Change Management. The session was inspiring, educational, uplifting, impactful and motivational. Thank you so much, Kathleen!
