The Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) 2 is one of twelve educational service agencies in the state of Wisconsin. Nineteen CESAs were formed in 1963 by the state legislature. In 1985, CESAs were reduced to twelve and the regions have continued to serve their local school districts since that time. CESA 2 serves 74 school districts in southern Wisconsin. The districts are very diverse as there are K-8, high school, and K-12 districts. District enrollments vary from 90 – 27,0000. The needs of districts vary greatly as well. Services offered by CESA 2 include literacy, numeracy, Title I, special education, systems coaching/planning, instructional coaching, and more. CESA 2 also offers programs that create efficiencies and savings for districts. Examples include driver’s education and cooperative purchasing. CESA 2 also operates Vocational Opportunities Assistance (VOA) for adults with disabilities and the Jefferson County Head Start.

Recently, State Representative Fitzgerald and State Senator Ratcliff visited one of our Jefferson and Western Kenosha County Head Start classrooms! They had a great time with the kids as they visited during snack time and the wrap-up to their day. We're glad we could show all the great things happening in our school districts with Head Start!

February is Black History Month. It serves as a reminder of not only the sacrifices and accomplishments Black Americans have made to propel the human rights movement, but also a celebration of the innovation, creativity, and achievements of Black Americans that have shaped US History. The theme for this year's Black History Month is African Americans and Labor. This theme focuses on the various and profound ways that work and working of all kinds – free and unfree, skilled, and unskilled, vocational and voluntary – intersect with the collective experiences of Black people.
