This flag is special. This was made at the very beginning of Cerven Solutions inside our parent's garage on a Tormach 440. We've moved past the garage and Tormach days because we are lucky enough to be doing this in America. Excited to see what the future of manufacturing in America holds! Happy 4th of July! Always fun running some simultaneous machining! While most of the multi-axis work we do is 3+2 machining, i.e. the table moves to position and locks in place, there are certain geometries that require the table to move while the part is being machined. That is exactly what these ULTEM parts require! Check out all of our media here! https://lnkd.in/e-uchTyM

The Quality Department build out continues... Also, shout out to Drafter for making this sweet GD&T cheatsheet! Check out all of our media here! https://lnkd.in/e-uchTyM

With 180 parts to machine, high spindle uptime is a must. As usual, this is where LANG shines! By machining identical fixtures with pull studs, we are able to swap fixtures and keep the machine running while we remove and replace the completed part with raw stock. Why the need for the fixture in the first place? Well, when you have an ULTEM part that looks like a snowflake and want to avoid the need for a second operation, a bolt on fixture and slitting saw to finish the job is the perfect combo! Heat is always an unwanted variable in machining, so what steps can you take to mitigate the affects? While not eliminating heat, a warmup cycle allows the machine to reach steady state while not scrapping parts. How is this accomplished? Our warmup cycle moves all axes and runs the spindle at an inputed RPM. Our machines have been setup so that we simply type in the following G code: G123SX Where "X" is the desired RPM. How do we choose the RPM? If we are running titanium/steel, we may want a lower RPM, plastics or aluminum, a higher RPM, and small diameter tooling (sub 0.020" diameter) the highest RPM. By running this warmup cycle before we machine the part, we find that part variation is much lower and chasing tolerances is all but eliminated (roughing/finishing tooling also greatly helps with this). With the scraprate all but 0, parts can be coming off the machine even quicker. Thank you Zappettini Consulting for setting this all up!

Exciting progress on our machine tending robot! We have made improvements to reduce/elimine setup friction and time while increasing the overall reliability of the system. This was done by focusing both on software and hardware improvements. The end result? Instead of only using the robot if the entire table is full, we are driving that number down to both much lower quantities and cycle times. Thank you Allendale Machinery Systems and Chris Jost for working with us on this!

3rd time's the charm! Excited to have another Robodrill hit the floor. Of course combined with a Koma Precision Inc 5-Axis table, as this is a great match that we have been big fans of. Just wait until we have the robot tending up and running. Thank you as always Maruka USA! 2025 is going to be fun! Check out all of our media here! https://lnkd.in/e-uchTyM

Not a sharp edge in sight! Our 5-axis is turning this multi operation part into two simple operations. The hard to reach sharp edges are taken care of with a lollipop mill because hand deburrring is ew. Once the second operation is finished, the parts come out of the machine 100% complete and ready for inspection. Check out all of our media here! https://lnkd.in/e-uchTyM

We are always excited when we receive the opportunity to visit other manufacturing companies, and a few of those companies really standout. ZYCI CNC Machining is definitely one of those companies. While every machining company removes material and turns raw stock into completed parts, the processes and business practices that drives each business are what really creates differentiation. Spending the day talking about such differentiators and walking around ZYCI's brand new building was incredibly valuable and the equivalent of multiple business case studies. We left motivated and had a clearer vision of how to bring Cerven Solutions to the next level. Thank you Mitch Free for your valuable time and insights, and the rest of the ZYCI team for answering all our questions and the great conversations!

Introducing our Advanced (obviously), Medium bed FANUC America Corporation Robodrill from Maruka USA complete with a Royal Products mist collector and tended by a Universal Robots collaborative robot. They say if you love what you do you'll never work a day in your life. This, on the otherhand, may be a sign for a much needed vacation.
