At Cerus, we are proud of our consistent and unwavering focus to secure blood safety around the globe.
关于我们
Cerus Corporation is dedicated solely to safeguarding the world’s blood supply and aims to become the preeminent global blood products company. Headquartered in Concord, California, the company develops and supplies vital technologies and pathogen-protected blood components to blood centers, hospitals, and ultimately patients who rely on safe blood. The INTERCEPT Blood System for platelets and plasma is available globally and remains the only pathogen reduction system with both CE mark and FDA approval for these two blood components. In the US, the INTERCEPT Blood System for Cryoprecipitation is approved for the production of Pathogen Reduced Cryoprecipitated Fibrinogen Complex (commonly referred to as INTERCEPT Fibrinogen Complex), a therapeutic product for the treatment and control of bleeding, including massive hemorrhage, associated with fibrinogen deficiency. The INTERCEPT red blood cell system is in late-stage clinical development. For more information about Cerus, visit www.cerus.com and follow us on LinkedIn.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just published the latest results of the 2023 National Blood Collection and Utilization Survey (NBCUS) in which national trends in US blood availability are described (1). Findings include:? ? Responses from 96% of community-based blood centers and 85.7% of transfusing hospitals, the highest to date?? ? Stabilization in the blood supply with a return to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels? ? Shift from whole-blood derived platelets in favor of apheresis platelets, the former of which have been associated with a higher risk of viral transfusion transmission?due to multiple donor exposure? ? More than half of the nation’s supply of apheresis platelets are pathogen reduced?? ?? Reflecting on 5 Years Since the COVID-19 Pandemic Declaration ? Five years ago today, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. This milestone marked the beginning of a profoundly challenging time that reshaped healthcare systems, economies, and our daily lives across the globe. As we reflect on the lessons learned and the resilience shown by communities everywhere, we also honor the healthcare workers, blood donors, researchers, and countless others who stepped up in extraordinary ways to protect lives and strengthen public health systems. The pandemic underscored the critical importance of safe and reliable blood supplies and highlighted the need for innovation in transfusion medicine. At Cerus, we remain committed to advancing technologies that support blood safety and pandemic preparedness. The Cerus story is a unique one, addressing the need for blood safety and availability over 30+ years. With this history comes the need to communicate our mission to many different audiences. Learn more about how we’ve done this in Jessica Hanover's conversation with Kimberly Kraemer of life sciences agency Waterhouse Brands. https://lnkd.in/g2kPdHf4?
There's a lot to be said for taking a "career portfolio" approach when it comes to leading the Corporate Affairs function at life sciences companies. That's because navigating complex competitive dynamics and representing diverse audience needs is THE JOB. So what skills and experiences position someone for success in this mission-critical C-suite role? To explore this question, I sat down with Jessica Hanover, Ph.D., whose career trajectory to the C-Suite of Cerus working with CEO William "Obi" Greenman paints a picture of how in-the-trenches scientific and technical experiences become a force multiplier for strong communications skills in leading the Corporate Affairs function. My take: there's no one-size-fits-all approach to doing the job, but doing it well requires diversity of perspective. Read on…
