Each year Certco offers scholarship opportunities to the children or grandchildren of current employees.? ? This year Certco’s Scholarship Committee was able to select three academic scholarship winners from many impressive applications. ? The scholarships are $2,000 each. ? One for a high school senior, one for a continuing undergrad and a third scholarship that we call Certco Proud. This third scholarship goes to a student that may not have had the highest score in the rubric but impressed the committee as someone destined to great success. ? Monday, October 28th, through Wednesday, October 30th, 2024,?Certco President & CEO Amy Niemetscheck attended the NGA Executive Conference and Public Policy Summit in Washington, DC.?? ? Monday and Tuesday were filled with valuable industry insights shared by peers and associate members.?Wednesday, Niemetscheck hit the hill with other NGA members.?The first meeting was held at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building where the group met with policy advisors to discuss antitrust, swipe fees, SNAP choice, Traceability and Refrigeration regulations.?The next stop was the USDA office where the group reviewed SNAP choice in further detail, Pilot programs occurring, WIC and GusNIP. ? Niemetscheck said “It is an honor to serve and advocate for not only our independent grocers that are Certco members, but all Independent Grocers in the country at the national level.” ? Retirement is always an exciting adventure to begin and after almost 23 years at Certco our Vice President/Sales Director, Dave Ryman gets to start his own adventure into retirement! There was some friendly humor as he's a Bears fan amongst many Packers fans, so we had to give him Packers jersey for the road! We are definitely going to miss seeing his face around the office!
