We're nearly through February, with the mornings getting lighter and we're gaining three minutes of daylight at the end of each day. So, a good moment to kick back, make your favourite coffee and enjoy this month's edition of The Reputation, where we explore that very precious commodity - Trust. Our associate Tom Crawford reflects on what drives trust and its relationship with purpose. We explore the 'trust wobble' in the context of empowerment leadership, the importance of listening to your employees to drive performance, and share some lovely stories and pics from our travels in the US and across Europe and the UK. #EmployerReputation #Trust #Leadership

Rome?wasn't built in a day. But the Ceriph team created a fair amount in two days last week in the Eternal City. ?? Bringing together teams from 4 different countries, Ceriph worked with on scoping a global careers website on behalf of one of our clients in the defence industry. From diving into the fundamentals for a global website to sharing the latest and greatest innovation in the industry - it was two great days. We often talk about the positive impact ‘diversity of thought’ can have - and bringing together 4 different nationalities to co-create was testament to the value of this. ?? Brilliant ideas, great thinking and a project that will support a period of real growth for the organisation and strengthen their reputation as an employer. #EmployerReputation #Diversity #CandidateExperience?

Last week we attended?#truLeeds where our?Director, Ken Kane, led a track on 'Why your CEO isn't invested in your Employer Brand'. With some lively discussion, he asked several questions to the room: ? Why has Employer Brand never really landed in the Boardroom? ? Isn’t it time to set Employer Brand in a bigger and broader context? And make it more measurable, delivering tangible value? ? Shouldn’t Employer Brand be engaging the 'C' suite and driving organisational performance? ? Isn’t it time to change the narrative and start talking 'employer reputation?’ ??? There was further discussion on what drives employer reputation, and how you can measure it - with Ken sharing the reasons why 'a good reputation is the foundation of a successful brand.' ?? Additional key themes emerged from the conversations including psychological safety, authentic employee stories, leadership behaviour and the questionable reliability of employee satisfaction indexes. ?? Fascinating insight from the other track leaders Danielle Latto Harte, John Rose, Lorna Madden and Lauren Herriott and thanks?to Chatter Communications and Luminos Insight Ltd for sponsoring. ?? Kudos to Martin Dangerfield for arranging another great?event in Leeds. See you at #truManchester in May! #EmployerReputation #EmployerBranding

Return to work mandates have dominated work news this month with WPP?CEO Mark Read’s mandate requiring employees to return to the office for four days a week and?Lord Stuart Rose, the former boss of Asda and Marks & Spencer, sparking controversy stating that working from home is “not doing proper work” and most recently President Donald Trump's executive order mandating federal workers to return to the office five days a week. ?Were the 'workers' consulted? ?Does the employee view count? ?Does productivity change according to the role or level in the organisation? ?Is Stuart Rose correct in intimating that if you work from home you're less productive? According to?Nick Bloom,?Professor of Economics at Stanford University?'Classic firm and individual micro studies?typically find?that hybrid work, the usual pattern for about 30 percent of the US, European, and Asian labor forces, has a roughly flat impact on productivity. WFH benefits workers by saving them from exhausting commutes and typically provides a quieter working environment.' https://lnkd.in/dW7egEBQ ?? The debate will continue, and organisations won't please all of the people all of the time. Context changes according to the brand. We'll share more on this debate throughout the year, but as for 'not doing proper work' - the remote-based CERIPH crew may have a few things to say on this..... #WorkFromHome #ReturntoWork #EmployerReputation

Last week CERIPH got into the festive spirit by sponsoring a round table discussion for senior TA and HR leaders hosted by TALiNT Partners. One of our co-founders Neil Griffiths attended, and captured some of the? top talent trends for 2025 that were discussed in his latest post???
AI, skills based hiring, brand and DE&I - not your usual topics of discussion over a Christmas dinner. However, when CERIPH sponsored a round table discussion for senior TA and HR leaders last week, these were the big topics that dominated the conversation. To be fair, the discussion was framed on the top talent trends and areas of concern for 2025 as highlighted by our hosts TALiNT Partners. So the topics came as no surprise and triggered a healthy debate - highlights included: - Should you question the ethics of candidates using AI to apply for roles, or engaging ChatGPT to pass screening stages? Or is it how organisations manage the process that needs attention? - Is a skills based hiring discussion even possible if an organisation isn't capturing reliable data that shows what skills employees actually have? - Is DE&I really falling down the list of priorities for organisations? Or are budgets being reassigned for short term wins - and leaders not focusing on the impact on business performance? The business case hasn’t changed so why are some brands and leaders listening to outside pressures? This is only a snapshot of the discussion - but what was clear, is that the decisions being made to address these concerns will impact an employers reputation. Ignore AI ethics, skills based hiring and the importance of DE&I, and you risk losing high performers, damaging employee trust in the business, as well as the ability to attract top talent. Thanks to everybody that attended, and to Ken B. for his skills in facilitating such a lively debate. We're looking forward to tackling some of these challenges in the new year! #EmployeeEngagement #EmployerReputation #employerbrand? #dei
