    Three years ago, we committed ourselves to building our U.S. offshore wind projects with American union labor, signing a first-of-its-kind National Offshore Wind Agreement with North America’s Building Trades Union. Today, Orsted is proud to announce that our U.S. offshore wind energy projects have generated approximately 3 million work hours for American union workers and counting, while creating more than 1,400 direct union jobs. These jobs come with family-sustaining wages that support the middle class and expand the American energy workforce. And there’s more to come. Another 500 union workers are expected to start offshore work this year at our largest U.S. project to date, the 924 MW Sunrise Wind, which will power hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses in New York. We’re proud of our partnership with American unions as we expand domestic energy production and invest in core U.S. industries like shipbuilding, ports, and manufacturing.     We’re proud to share that Riggs Distler has been honored with the "New Jersey’s Leading Capital Construction Project" award from the NJ Alliance for Action for their work on the Morristown-Legion Place Substation Upgrade. This recognition, part of the 14th Annual program, highlights innovative, impactful, and collaborative projects that support economic growth across the state. For this project, Riggs Distler is providing all labor, materials, and equipment for the civil works of the 34.5kV and 230kV substation, a critical upgrade designed to improve service reliability for 23,000 customers in northern New Jersey. The upgrades aim to reduce the risk and impact of power outages, particularly during hurricane season. Located along the Whippany River, an area increasingly vulnerable to flooding, this enhanced infrastructure will help protect vital electric systems from rising water levels and severe weather, ensuring more resilient service for the community.

  • Safety is at the core of everything we do. That’s why NPL Construction Co. was pleased to represent at the Missouri Common Ground Alliance (MOCGA) Damage Prevention and Excavation Safety Summit in Springfield, Missouri. The national event features classes, demonstrations, vendors, and an operator’s rodeo, all with the aim of helping prevent jobsite incidents, injuries, and underground utility damages. For their part, NPL had a booth highlighting what the team does and the services they provide. Attending events like this one are mutually beneficially- allowing our teams to learn, network, and promote safety.
