Our team worked hard today to move into our new facility at 2812 Ruffner Road, Irondale, AL. The interior spaces of our building have been renovated including new rooms, fixtures, wall treatments and floor coverings. Nearly everything that needed to be done, got done today. Today was the big day to say good by to the leased space we have had in Birmingham for the past 8+ years. It was a major expansion for Centro to open a branch in Birmingham and this was achieved by our team in about 5 weeks after we made the decision to establish a branch. The team we had at that time did a fantastic job of getting us up and running in a very short time. However as we have grown as a company a number of our headquarters functions are now done out of the Birmingham branch including price management, operations management, purchasing management and the eCommerce team uses Birmingham has their home location. The move to the new facility will provide us with more office and more inventory space. For now, we want to say a fond farewell to our old digs that are pictured here. We would like to congratulate and thank Terry Hissong on his 6 year anniversary as part of the Centro outside sales team. Terry took over the NW Arkansas territory shortly after the retirement of Lark Price who had been in the territory for more than 20 years. Shortly after taking over the territory the COVID pandemic occurred and there was a huge disruption in the customer base. Through all of these changes Terry persevered and found a way to keep his territory going. Terry came to Centro with a good industry background, but still had a lot to learn about the 7 product focused divisions at Centro. He has applied himself to that task in a way that has benefited both Centro and his customers. Centro has been blessed with many long serving team members and over the past 5 years many of them have left the company to enjoy a well earned retirement.
