Our Manager of Community Engagement, Jodi Vanlerberghe, was recently on Kalamazoo Mornings With Ken Lanphear asking the community to volunteer with us! We're looking for new volunteers, from licensed cosmetologists who can give haircuts, to folks who can provide respite support for families with loved ones in our service. We provide thorough training to all our volunteers, and you'll join a community of fellow compassionate people looking to enrich their lives through volunteerism. Hospice Aide LaToya Chaney is the recipient of the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Hospice Caregiver Award for March! She was recognized for caring for Joe and his family, especially his showers and getting him into his seat every time she visited. Last week's Journeys session at Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan was all about “Drumming to the Beat of Your Grief.” Participants used music and rhythm in a special percussion circle led by Centrica Care Navigators’ own music therapists Ian and Marissa to help them process their unique grief journeys. They also created their own drums and developed coping grief playlists to support their healing.
