We were honoured to be hosted by Joint Irish Secretary Laurence Simms last night for the annual Fellowship Programme reception. It was wonderful to gather with current and former Fellows, advisory board members, and friends of the Fellowship. We are truly grateful for the continued support of the Fellowship Programme by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland. #SpiritofPossibility Darragh McCarthy | Nick Coburn | Peter Cunningham | Derek Hynes | David Clements | Christina Bates | Gordon Parkes | Dalreen Buchanan

Please take time to read below?? Thank you Alan Lewis for sharing your personal story on an important topic.
Simply teaching children to mask a stammer isn't helpful, it’s like showing someone with a broken leg how to spend their life relying on crutches and walking aids. There must be renewed focus on understanding the causes of stammering to ensure we provide the correct help to deal with it.

Green Party Councillor - for the Lisnasharragh DEA on Belfast City Council. Centre for Democracy and Peace Building Fellow 2024/25.
When I applied to the Fellowship Programme, I did so with a sense of curiosity and wanting to step away from my own little bubble. The past few months have fully validated that it was worthwhile to put my name into the application process. The incredible level of learning and quality of speakers has made me aware that I alongside my other Fellows are very fortunate to be part of this. It's also a privilege to be part of the collective group of this year and I've learned so much already from my fellow participants, who come from a very broad range of sectors across Northern Ireland and beyond. I not only look forward to the rest of the programme, but how it will stand me in good stead for the years ahead and how I take this learning into my pursuit of working to deliver a climate resilient Belfast and wider NI. Finally, I'd say if anyone is just as curious about applying for the Fellowship Programme next year, I'd be more than happy to talk to you about my experience.
