Evoking excellence in others through an Integral Approach to Coaching and Leadership Development

关于我们

Evoking excellence in others through an Integral Approach to Coaching and Leadership Development The Centre for Coaching is an international executive coaching & leadership development organisation, operating out of both South Africa and Switzerland. Our intellectual and practitioner roots come from two key sources: - our position as a Centre of Excellence at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business; and our partnership with New Ventures West in the USA, through which we receive our accreditation with the International Coach Federation. We are passionate about sustainably unleashing human potential into the world, supporting individuals and organisations to transform. To enable this, we use a global network of top certified professional coaches, and hand-picked trainers and facilitators. We have a proud heritage, drawing from our roots in both San Francisco/Silicon Valley, USA, through our partner “New Ventures West”, as well as South Africa, the “Silicon Valley of Human Complexity”, where the Centre for Coaching was founded in 2002. In 2014 we opened our Swiss office, based near Geneva. Speak personally with one of our Centre for Coaching Directors who are all qualified Integral Coaches to determine how we can help you accomplish your goals. • Olga Klimanovich, an executive coach and strategic communication consultant based in London, was among our first alumni in Switzerland. As we explore the theme of love, we asked Olga to share her perspective. “I’m often asked what I love most about my work. For a long time, I wasn’t sure how to answer. Then it hit me: I love people. This love has shaped my career, moving me from Corporate Affairs to Internal Communication and Employee Engagement — all because I wanted to work more closely with people.” Olga’s deep love for people fuels her curiosity about her clients. In her own words: "I truly believe I have the best clients. I love them all." But this love comes with a challenge. She reflects on the delicate balance between caring for others and practising self-love: "It’s almost like two competing loves are playing tug-of-war. I know that neglecting self-love doesn’t help me bring my best self to the clients and mentees I care about so deeply." Continue reading: https://lnkd.in/e6D5dGUw

  • At the core of effective leadership is the ability to engage in Alignment Conversations — dialogues that foster clarity, commitment, and shared understanding. The result? Stronger commitments, better solutions, real momentum, and, of course, better team performance. In our Alignment & Delegation workshop (part of our university-accredited Leadership Conversations series), we’ll help you move from vague expectations to clear, structured agreements. Using our integral framework, you’ll learn to: ? Shift from assumptions to agreements — co-create explicit commitments. ? Clarify your Essential Intent before making requests. ? Communicate what you need, why it matters, and what success looks like. ? Make thoughtful promises — ensuring sincerity, capability, and reliability. Join our "Alignment and Delegation" workshop on 14 March 2025 to learn how to delegate, become more effective, and be less overwhelmed with chaos and complexity. • From Misalignment to Momentum. Mastering Alignment Conversations (by Daniel Ahlers) Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, "That didn’t go as planned?" or found yourself frustrated because someone didn’t follow through as expected? More often than not, these moments stem from a lack of alignment—not in intention, but in communication. At the heart of effective leadership is the ability to engage in Alignment Conversations - generative dialogues that foster clarity, commitment, and shared understanding. A key ingredient in these conversations is being able to make clear requests and promise soundly while remaining open and curious. The result? Significantly enriched requests, stronger commitments and often, better solutions. Yet many of us hesitate. • At the Centre for Coaching, we believe that every misstep is an opportunity for growth. We are delighted to share a simple yet powerful way to reframe mistakes with curiosity and openness. Benjamin Zander, co-author of?The Art of Possibility, offers a quick yet powerful practice: whenever you make a mistake (or encounter the unexpected), exclaim?“How fascinating!”?while raising your arms up in the air! Instead of frustration or shame, this phrase sparks curiosity — what really happened, and what can you learn? Reframing mistakes When things go wrong, our first reaction is often embarrassment, frustration or fear. Declaring?“How fascinating!”?breaks the blame cycle and fosters a growth mindset. By viewing mistakes as opportunities, you stay open to improvement instead of dwelling on the error. This approach can transform any interaction or relationship. When leaders or parents respond to errors with curiosity, everyone feels safer taking risks, experimenting, and sharing new ideas. It sets a positive tone where mistakes become catalysts for learning, not reasons for criticism. Practice 2-3 times a day We invite you to try this simple practice as you kick off 2025. The next time something goes awry, pause and say those two words –?“How fascinating!”?- while thrusting your arms in the air. Then reflect on what made this moment “fascinating”, what you learned, and how you might adjust/apply that lesson in the future. Some “fascinating” missteps may even lead to unexpected breakthroughs. Over time, you’ll train yourself and those around you to see challenges not as roadblocks, but as invitations to grow and explore. Mistakes and surprises are inevitable — especially when we’re pushing ourselves toward new goals or tackling fresh challenges in a new year. By greeting each stumble with “How fascinating!” instead of retreating into blame or shame, we stay open and curious. We discover more, learn faster, and bring a more joyful, adventurous spirit to everything we do. #CentreForCoaching #CoachingForDevelopment #CoachingPractice #ExecutiveCoaching #CoachingForLeaders
