At Central Texas Food Bank, our mission is to nourish our neighbors, and this week, we saw firsthand the power of community and volunteerism in making that mission a reality. With thousands of families relying on us, the support of volunteers is crucial to ensuring nutritious meals reach those who need them most. This week, we were joined by two incredible Team USA Olympic Champions, Gabrielle Thomas and Chase kalisz, who, alongside Team Delta Air Lines volunteers, rolled up their sleeves in our warehouse to help sort and package food. Earlier in the week, actress and Austin native Melissa Barrera, joined us through Feeding America, at our Mobile Food Pantry in Onion Creek to help distribute food directly to our community. Their efforts are a reminder that every volunteer is a champion and a star! These star-studded moments shine a light on the critical work that happens daily at CTFB, where volunteers, whether individuals or corporate teams, make an enormous impact in Central Texas. Thank you to @Delta and @Feeding America for connecting these amazing volunteers with our mission! We offer individual and group volunteer opportunities—perfect for team building, community service, and making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors. Austin FC & Q2 staff joined us in the sorting warehouse this week, rolling up their sleeves to help us address hunger in our community. Their dedication and enthusiasm brought our mission to life, as they helped sort and pack nutritious food for our neighbors in need. Volunteers play a crucial role in our work to end hunger, providing the vital support needed to keep the food flowing through our building and out into the community. We were happy to host our friends from Hays County and Austin Pets Alive! to discuss our innovative partnership with our new friends from PetSmart Charities, and give them a tour to see where the magic happens! From marveling at our fleet routing system to hearing about how we’ve been working collaboratively to distribute food to pets and families, it’s safe to say a good time was had by all. Grateful for partnerships and people who make it easy to get to “yes.”

Nourishing our community means working together to create lasting change. We were honored to host Day 1 of the USDA Southwest Regional TEFAP/CSFP Best Practices Conference, bringing together food banks to discuss innovative solutions, particularly for rural communities. Day 2 opened with our CEO, Sari Vatske, sharing our vision for FRESH future and introducing Bill Ludwig, the SWRO Administrator for USDA and advocate for food security in high-need areas. #foodsecurity #tefap #csfp #ruralcommunities #hungerfree #community

Food is medicine and reliable access to nutritious food is a critical part of improving health outcomes for our food-insecure neighbors. Today, CTFB hosted the Network Convening to Advance Healthcare Partnerships, a one-day event bringing together Feeding Texas network leaders and other food bank CEOs for collaborative discussions to inform policies. By breaking down silos and building strong partnerships, we can make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community. #foodismedicine #collaboration #healthcarepartnerships #endinghunger #communityimpact
