TJCOG Officially Transitions to Central Pines Regional Council: https://www.centralpinesnc.gov/pressreleases/central-pines-regional-council-roll-out-complete-launch-centralpinesncgov-domain Originally established in 1959 as the Research Triangle Regional Planning Commission, the Triangle J Council of Governments is a member-based organization that serves a seven-county region, addressing the tough issues that transcend political boundaries such as transportation, sustainable resources, affordable housing, and economic development. Our 37 member governments span across all counties - Chatham, Durham, Lee, Johnston, Moore, Orange and Wake - and include 30 municipal governments across those counties. TJCOG achieves its work through multiple roles: -- Convening local governments and regional stakeholders; -- Educating on local and regional opportunities for collaboration, cost sharing, and leveraging best practices; -- Advocating for regional solutions and initiatives; -- Creating, administering and assisting on local and regional programs.

The North Carolina Association of Regional Councils of Government (NCARCOG) will be hosting a Disaster Recovery Public Assistance Financial Administration Training on Tuesday, April 8 from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. This free training will be held at the Piedmont Triad Regional Council in Kernersville. This training addresses gaps in the financial administration of disaster recovery efforts. The curriculum was developed with input from an NCARCOG Subject Matter Expert Committee and from Public Assistance grant experts. Who should attend? This training is designed to help local communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. It is intended for local financial administrators, first responders, town administrators and support staff, and elected officials. Register to attend by Friday, April 4 by emailing [email protected] with the name of the individual attending the course, any dietary restrictions, and any accommodation needs.

The Senior Tar Heel Athletic Card (STHAC) is a free discount card created for individuals age 60+ to support high school athletes. The acceptance of the cards during the regular season is optional.
