Want to know the secret to teaching children about electrical safety?? CEC offers an interactive Safety City program for third to fifth grade students. We use a portable neighborhood equipped with buildings, people, power lines, moving props, and audio. The tabletop unit allows our team to teach schools, scout groups, and other organizations about the benefits & dangers of electricity. Winter has arrived, bringing cold temperatures, and everyone is looking for ways to stay warm. While heating your home can be costly, there are alternatives to turning the thermostat down. Individuals and families who are struggling to pay high energy bills may be eligible for assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). If you or a loved one are facing high energy bills, assistance is available. In addition to LIHEAP, Central Electric Cooperative offers other assistance programs such as Family Fund and Hardship Grant. All these programs are here to assist our members. Restoration efforts to recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Helene continue to progress in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. CEC has sent a crew to Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative in Pickens, South Carolina to help with the restoration efforts. Our thoughts are with everyone, and their loved ones affected. We wish safety and success to our dedicated employees and all the cooperative employees?working hard to help these communities get their power back.
